Europe is the pinnacle of the world. In my opinion, the green card in the US is the hardest to get. All places require you to work hard, buck down, be grateful and become part of the culture. You should not bring your home-country's politics, cultural peculiarities or domestic issues with you to your new home. Be a good human first. Then you will be accepted. Otherwise not. Good luck students and post docs!
