I love these breakdowns. Can we acknowledge how Nick always stays right in line through the poses. I always notice the other guys getting closer and closer to the judges. Nicks just stays in his place and does it by the book. Agreed with the whole judging except the front double. I definitely give that to Nick. But close for sure.

I don't even think it's close. Nicks midsection looks fine in the FDB pose, he's got so much more muscle and the arms are just no comparison. I don't know how Manion can give that pose to Martin, the arms alone win it but Nick closes the deal with completeness imo.

Great analysis man, but I actually would give the front double to Nick and the side chest to Martin, Nick's arms destroy Martin's from the front, and I dont think his waist was bad in comparison at the point to take away the pose from him, and regarding the side chest to Martin, his leg size and separation were very good, and the volume and detail in the chest overcome Nick's IMO

Martin looked great, I think that Nick wasn’t really off per se, I think Martin really really brought it. It’s going to be great to see Martin over the next 1-3 years fill out those few weak points mentioned such as arm separation, bigger legs and posing adjustments. Martin is going to be dangerous if he can bring that condition along with his lines.

And as I'm looking for the size difference (they look very comparable) I realize martin is standing a full foot closer to the judges....amazing top 2 though and I'm starting to think that we might have a second coming of the 90s! Freaky , shapely and conditioned guys all over! I think we'll look back to the 2020s in 10-15 years from now and celebrate these guys for what they bring on stage

All past elite guys with all that kind of muscle Nick has ALL their waists increased somewhat, If you want a small symmetrical guy win shows then it's a just classic Open show. Guys pounding wights and growing is Open bodybuilding.

Yeah, as long as you dont have a bubble gut, a wide waist shouldnt be an issue in open. Its the freak division, not the physique division

You are missing the point, bodybuilding is all about illusion because his waist got wider it throws off his x frame and make his legs look smaller and since nick dont have very good quad sweep it makes the illusion even worse.

@user-oq6sc1qm4j Illusion of size matters less when you're standing next to someone. Martin would hands down win if they were judged alone, but 34 inch legs still look bigger than 32 inch when standing right next to each other.

nick did not win the side chest. pretty even on the upper body even though i think nick lost there also. the shape of nicks legs in a side chest are inferior. its not just about size.

Martin should have won. you want more eyes to the sport? let the prettiest boys and girls win. dont just let some randomass genetics win.... the guy on the right is like copy pasted body while Martin is timeless. almost flawless structure. amazing symmetry. great posing and presentation. good personality and well spoken. the other guy???? lol its good for wwe. not a beauty pagent/Art show.
