Head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez and student-athletes Taylor Tinsley and Sharlize Palacios met with members of the media following Friday night's 6-1 win over Georgia. The UCLA softball team is headed back to the Women's College World Series for the 32nd time in program history.

How far this team has come! I'm so impressed. I agree that this is a complete team. The are a dangerous team on offense--can win 1-0 or by coming back with 11 unanswered runs against a high scoring team. Their defense is solid and even spectacular when it needs to be. And the pitching is amazing. Those girls can execute whatever pitch is called. But what might be overlooked is the chemistry they exhibit as a team. From a fan watching, it really does appear that there are no I's. They play together. They communicate. And they celebrate each other. Whether they win a championship or not, it's been a pleasure to be a fan of this team.
