Everybody saying fields doesn’t have the talent around him look at Jordan love not one of his WRs is a wr1 and he threw for more yards than any bears qb ever in his first year playing. This was supposed to be a rebuilding for the packers and they made the playoffs because their qb dragged them there. The bears defense was able to give the bears life at the end of the year not fields. This year was supposed to be a statement year not a we’ll see next year year.

Look at Jordan o line, Look at the time he had to throw, he was sacked once, pressured on about 20% of his dropbacks, his running back had 112 yds rushing. His wrs was running wide open ( his play caller is good). Not Sacked 5 times, oline is getting bullied, and only one good wr and a banged up tight end.

Disagree. This was a mid rebuild year. If we doubled our wins and showed progress, mission accomplished. We were knocking on the door of playoffs if not for a Mooney and Scott dropped TDs and/or defense let down. We got what we realistically needed. It’s time to build talent on the O and take the next big step.

A couple points: 1) if you actually watched the football game, you can see the play calls on third down were terrible. No one open due to lack of talent but more so bad concepts that were design to be zone beaters. Packers play a lot of zone but they came out and played man. overly long developing plays on 3rd and medium, terrible blocking (Herbert wifs on the ilb blitz, Tevin got smoked twice, etc..) 2) harbaugh wants full control. If Poles hires him, then he’s relinquishing power and the owners have to give up “5-10%” of revenue. I want him too but it’s not that simple. If you don’t know what I am talking about, go look at how it ended in SF for harbaugh

JF1 was 11 for 16. That's 5 incompletions. Of those 5 incompletions, 3 of them were to get rid of the ball because of pressure. My wishlist: make a decision on the new modern retractable stadium and start the design/build, shelf the orange helmet/jerseys and throwbacks next season and add an all white helmet and bear logo to both blue/white helmet, upgrade LT C RG RB1 WR2-WR6 TE2-3, bring back Flus Fields with a new OC. On defense, add EDGE2-3 3Tech and S. We’re still rebuilding the roster. Next year we could be much better on O, but not if we reset things. I saw a team that competed on Sunday afternoon. We just don’t have enough talent to win 1 on 1 consistently. Fields is not the scapegoat.

We know what we have in Fields. He’s improving slowly but he is improving. He was a 4.0 gpa college student and he works like a dog to get better at his job according to everyone around him. With his work ethic and his continued development, the sky is the limit. The Bears need to invest in Fields. Put the talent around him, hire coaches specifically to work with Fields. Draft a quarterback to compete with Fields even. We have the QB, the cap space, draft picks, and the luxury of sitting a rookie qb for a year or two of development if we let Fields contract play out. If Fields continues to develop then I would think they just sign him and trade the backup waiting to start. Keep Bagent as your lifetime backup lol

It feels like football is like any business. There is this “brotherhood” or emotional sides to hitting levels of success. The problem is that doesn’t scale. When a coach or a CEO gets more successful is they get beyond the emotional and it becomes a system and a decision and situational where adapting becomes the lever of success, “brotherhood” is actually status quo and should be a given, and with a great ceo or coach the emotion or brotherhood becomes a by-product of success. Flus is too emotional and not good enough at building a process or a football machine.

They have a system to develope their qb's, better playcallers... they are better. It's bigger than qb. We need a lot more talent. The better team won... I hate GB so we can say it's the qb.. the Packers didn't punt once. They held the ball for the last 6 min.

I was at this game, it was a lackluster effort by everyone. The offense had great starting position the whole game, Fields couldn’t do anything with it. If you look at his stats , he barely improved over the last 3 years. He holds the ball too long. Perfect example in this game, Kmet was wide open in the end zone and Fields waited too long gave a chance for the defender to get back to deflect, (almost intercept his throw, should have been a touchdown) After three years this is unacceptable. I like the LSU qb, forget Caleb he is too short and folds under pressure.

Let them have the #1 pick I'm sure we going to see the same thing... just so sick of hearing it, the packers are the better team they played like they had something to loose, Also bears barely, rarely got a pass run and man like week one the middle of the field and slants where wide open.

But as always you lay all the blame at the QB’s feet. Go ahead and draft Caleb, but unless the Bears fix and upgrade the offense and the OC, the same problems will continue. An NFL coach has more influence than any other coach in other sports. NBA superstars can still win when their coach is bad. An NFL superstar can’t when his bad coach is calling the plays. You can’t tell me that with a better coach that Justin and this offense wouldn’t be much better. If we had a better play caller we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. I want Justin fields back but if getting rid of him means getting rid of these coaches then sign me up. If the bears get Harbaugh I don’t think it matters who’s his QB. Good coaches can make any competent QB look good. Like at Shannahan in SF, dude could make Zach Wilson a pro bowler.

If you think Justin Fields is a bust you’re a clown. Put Fields with Shanahan, Mcvay, Lafleur, Reid, and we’re in the playoffs talking about the haul we’re about to get for the #1 pick. GB doesn’t have ONE pro bowl player. The bears are more talented than them other than the defense line and maybe O line too because of the injuries. The bears were out coached just like every time they play GB. People want to say dudes like Love and Purdy are great QBs when their coach literally scheme guys wide open for them. Love had all day, guys wide open, and his RB running for 100 yards. You get a good head coach and it doesn’t matter if it’s Fields, Williams, or some other competent QB and the bears will be successful.

@@mikee4375You're just a Fields apologist, (as well as a "clown") and you will always have ready-made excuses for him. Dude holds the ball way too long, couldn't throw his guys "open" if he tried, has ZERO poise while under pressure in the pocket, and doesn't protect the ball. Not to mention that his "football I.Q." sucks. Although a competent offensive coordinator is extremely important, you overstate it by suggesting that a real good coordinator could "scheme" receivers open all day long. Fields will still have many moments during a game where he will have to make things happen on his own due to good defensive coverage. And that's where he invariably takes the sack or turns the ball over because he doesn't have the confidence or ability to put the ball on a dime where his receiver has the best chance of catching it. And regarding your contention that the issue with the Bears getting spanked by the Packers for the last 30 YEARS is simply due to their being "outcoached" over that span of time is sheer comedy. (not to mention pure stupidity) The difference between the two teams over a 30-YEAR span is the disparity in quarterback play! Google ALL Super Bowl winning quarterbacks from the 1st game until present and the list reads like the Hall of Fame list. With the exception of about 4 quarterbacks, the ENTIRE list is either in the Hall of Fame or will be once they retire. The importance of elite quarterback play cannot be over-stated! And Justin is nowhere near elite level, and even with a great offensive coordinator, never will be. He'll be better for sure, but he is not the answer if you want to win the Super Bowl.

Referee’s were on one all year with Fields. There are some questionably late slides but they were still hitting him in the head. In the Browns game one of them literally slapped him in the helmet as he’s in a full slide. They are hitting him after throws, fining players after the game, but not calling anything at all on the field.

I was initially very upset about this loss because I was drinking the Kool-Aid and thinking the Bears were gonna actually go up to Green Bay and beat them but when I got a chance to think it through after the game was over, I can honestly say that I’m in a much better state of mind now because this was the game that Bears fans needed to see from Justin Fields to know definitively that he’s not "your guy". They needed a game in which they threw for an anemic hundred yards and couldn’t score a touchdown and almost never looked like they could move the ball... and that’s what management in my opinion needed to see and all of those stupid Bear's fans who were sitting on the fence and thinking that they might actually have found their franchise quarterback. Guys, we did NOT! And I knew that at the start of the season, and I’ve been telling everybody who would listen that he’s not a franchise quarterback he’s an intriguing one with a lot of skills and athleticism, but he’s not a pocket passer!! He cannot throw his guys "open" unless somebody’s wide open, and he can’t put it on a "dime". He holds the ball too goddamn long and doesn't trust his receivers enough to throw the ball up where only his guy can get it. He's just NOT the answer and if they trade that first draft pick or if they don’t go out and get a quarterback in the first round and let Justin Fields walk I’m done watching these bitches!
