14:26 "A digital timer" when it's clearly an analog one...

Stock music was taken from the Las Vegas 1976's "Let's Make a Deal".

Rhodes TV Group syndicated the 1980-81 episodes, besides Fremantle.

Even though it was taped in Vancouver, the show was mainly for the American audience. Also, as you can see in the intro, they money seen in this version had Monty's face on it, which could then be exchanged for Canadian or American dollars (usually the latter). As a side note, even though they're of different sizes, Canada did use gallons as a supplementary measurement.

Didn't know the box reveal sound effect originated in this version, it was used extensively in the 1984 All New LMAD.

the Big Deal cues used in 1984-1986 (14:23) came from this version, too.

And before that, it was used in the 1976-77 Vegas season.

Thamks for posting...given both this series and Pitfall were produced by Catalena Productions, they had some shared crew members (co-producer/Catalena founder Ian MacLennan, director Geoff Theobald, production staffer Cathy Okulitch, and stage managers Nick Orchard and Lyle Povah).

Ah!! The ultra low budget version, but still fun to see.

The first time I had ever watched "Let's Make A Deal" Canadian version was on an American (formerly) indie station channel 31 WUHF-TV (now currently FOX Rochester).

10:49 slightly different and longer "Zonk" cue than the one we're familiar with.

I've seen disaster kitchens in big boxes before, but I think this is the first episode where I saw a disaster living room in a box!

Jay Stewart sounds funny with a Canadian accent. I guess Carol Merrill didn't have a passport. I never knew she was born in Western Wisconsin.

Considering this was done in Vancouver, I guess they needed to meet CanCon requirements, hence why they had a different announcer and different model. Monty Hall met the requirement, as he was originally from Winnipeg.
@erikdraven17315 ай бұрын
@@bluebear1985 CanCon only required one on-air personality to be Canadian, so they could've used Jay Stewart and Carol if it had been possible. (For instance, Rod Charlebois on Chain Reaction and Mary Lou Basaraba on Super Pay Cards filled just that.)

@bluebear1985 Jay Stewart was busy announcing the B&E shows at the time, anyway.
