I went through post partum depression. It was the most dark and terrifying feeling to experience. I felt that I was suffering. People judge without knowing is a real condition. I remember that I got help. That is 💯 true. I didn't talk to anyone for a year. It took me a year to get help. It happened after a miscarriage. I felt guilty for losing my baby. I remember feeling pain, a lot of emotional pain. I understand that people may not agree with me, but I have a lot of empathy for that Duxbury mom. I also feel the loss of the children. This news has affected me a lot.

This has to be said, Andrea Yates’ psychiatrist told Rusty that they shouldn’t have anymore babies after baby #4, and that another baby would guarantee a future extreme psychotic episode, and then they get pregnant with the 5th baby anyway. The 5th baby eventually lead to the drowning. Why on earth did they have that 5th baby after they were advised not to?

I had psychosis a few months ago from bipolar disorder. It’s like being in a trance. You feel like you’re having a nightmare but you know you’re not asleep. Just think of the craziest nightmares you’ve ever had and all the horror movies you’ve ever seen and imagine you’re really living them. I saw this monster/alien woman telling me to shhhh. Heard voices telling me I was the antichrist and I was going to hell. Saw someone I knew who had died too. I could go on. I wish I had known what psychosis was then maybe I wouldn’t have been scared out of my freaking skull.

Good evening Mr CUOMO. Thank you so much for bringing some attention to this matter. I am sad 😞 about this family situation, it’s heartbreaking💔the pain and suffering of this family and beloved ones can’t be ignored. I am a very lucky mother of 4 amazing young adults. I was very fortunate that I had never experienced anything like this horrible illness😞and my heart goes out to the hopeless mothers who are suffering in silence😞this illness that takes away a woman’s ability to access joy…👩‍🍼right at the time she needs it the most. It’s not talked about enough. It needs to be.

I didn't think I could like Chris Cuomo less, until I watched this video. Clearly it is he, not "society" that "can't wrap their head around PPP or how a husband can forgive". More than ANYONE, this sweet, loving, young mother deserves our prayers - not condemnation. This is something that happened to her. She had no control over the intrusive thoughts playing tricks with her mind. That's what Psychosis is and does. If anyone deserves some accountability, it's her doctor, psychiatrist, and the mental health hospital that discharged her in early January. She was desperate for help, and all she got was a fistfull of pills that were not helping, and, in fact, making her feel worse, and a day program obviously delivered online, that clearly wasn't enough. They could have tried ECT, which instantly rewires the brain in cases of intractible severe depression. There is also a treatment that helps to balance levels of Estrogen, the post-partum depletion of which is thought to cause this horrible illness. I hate to see these news stations feeding off of this poor family's tragedy. Chris, you're an A**H***! I won't be watching Newsmax, now that I know they have hired you. You're a sad excuse for a journalist, if not a human being.

So....what causes it? Having children? Can the same be said for dads who up and kill their kids too?
@Peacenluv.c

No, I don’t think it’s the same for dads. Women go through a lot during pregnancy. Hormones change, everything changes.
@d8bn
@d8bn Жыл бұрын
@@Peacenluv.c Thank you. It's hard to imagine hormones can lead a person to kill, although testosterone enhances aggression. Part of me wonders if it's also a lack of support and loss of sleep. Having one child is hard enough, let alone 3 and also trying to work - that's just too much. I hope she speaks about what led her to do those horrible acts so we can learn and help mothers more.
@rinyui2935
@rinyui2935 Жыл бұрын
@@d8bn i doubt it's tht bc many women go through the hardships of motherhood with loss of sleep and lack of support. PPD is very much rare (thankfully) and no one for sure knows what causes it. it is treatable but I'm assuming it's expensive bc the women can't be left alone with kids or by themselves. i think we just need to realize how serious this is and hopefully the gov and health insurance takes it more seriously.
@theac.8125

Postpartum Psychosis is a misfiring of chemicals and hormones inside the brain that causes a detachment from reality. There's a lot of chemical changes inside a woman's brain during pregnancy, and particularly, after pregnancy. In rare cases, this can cause PPP which is considered an emergency mental health crisis.

yes, mental illness is real, but it doesn't excuse husband, her as a nurse and her treatment team to not being responsible when you are aware of a diagnosis and leaving children in harm's way...also why keep having children when you are susceptible to it??? Irresponsible, Yates and her husband also were warned to not have more children, but they continued

I stopped listening to Bronco's games after they fired Coach Hackett on Christmas day. I havn't corresponded with them either, you know why? They fired him on Christmas Day. I still like the players though, and the Walton/Penner combination has some intrige to me and they know why. I am a Christian, and as I see it your job is to bear your cross not please me; and, as I see it, you and Coach Hackett are good men just a little younger than me in getting screwed by mental healthcare practitioners. I might also have more years of experience with them since I saw my first one in 1992 for an eating disorder a pre-med student taught me how to endure (eat icecream before you throw your dinner up.) Add in my psychology degree and I can really infuriate a psychologist and make a psychiatrist want to up the meds on everyone in her roledex and who knows me. Have you heard it through the grapevine yet, I'm at war here in Colorado over this junk. The illicit market at least will "stay organic with me," but nothing beats a pure diet where even one drop of coffee can make the staff ask me for an autograph. But let's go a little deeper with this play, since I've given you a Peyton Manning "Brown," audible in the last segment. In a prior post, some days ago, I asked you to consider Leviticus 20:13 with the LGBTQ flag, now I want you to consider it with a woman who has five little boys; and, a husband who may have thought he was doing enough. He may have been, and she may have been just as willing to do the role playing all of us little girls were taught and saw our grandmother's succeed at while our mother's became prostitutes, alcoholics, and greedy coveting mistresses of the stars while riding us. My mom always thought she was the ballerina Tom Selleck should've married instead, but I digress. Sexual immorality is a capital offense. We live in a society that is bound and determined to kill something but they haven't been able to make a law with a picture next to it yet so people can feel free to do it. Dan Abrams did a good job of ferreting out another option to consider in Jim Crow laws: "Did they go Jim Crow so they could act like the race war here in the U.S. between black and white would resolve the Israeli v. Palestinian conflict?" What is up with the government saying they will always back Israel when Jesus is the king? Wouldn't that be one hell of an excuse to keep being a bigot, to claim you brought peace to the middle east by showing how well to men can point a finger?

@@Eric-yp9nc I see where your loyalties lie, whoever has the drugs will win your heart, mind, and soul. Your body is probably already trashed knowing what America defines as healthy. Should be a fun future for you as the legit market asks you to try LGBTQ for a spell and the illicit tells you you're ready for fentanyl. Good luck. I'll be happy to die at old age, which in some centuries I'm the equivalent of 109.

The weirdest part is that depression is the mental disorder statistically associated with higher rates of arrests for violent crime. Why is everyone avoiding that fact?
@valerierodger7700
@valerierodger7700 Жыл бұрын
The weirdest part is that you take a study that doesn’t show any causal link and think it is somehow significant. _One_ study in _one_ country (Sweden - hardly generalizable!) found a _correlation_ between _convictions_ and depression. Note correlation, not causation. Are you somehow surprised that the same factors which drive criminality might also cause a person to be depressed? Also note, it’s about how many people were _convicted_ of crimes, as opposed to _committed_ violent crimes - the depression may cause people to be more likely to plead guilty or less likely to be able to mount a strong defence.
