You certainly need a validation. Having listened to videos of stroke information for years, I would highly recommend you. You are the best source and yet you understand and refused to pull away the hope that we desperately need. Thank you, that's great!

I did ur lower body spasticity exercises two days in a row cause I've been super busy this week. I love to workout everyday. I was out for half the day doing alot of standing and my affected knee never buckled once❤❤❤. I thank God for u and this channel everyday. Much love and respect. Super grateful. But then there are days like today which are fewer and rare now come along and I'm feeling hugely overwhelmed and just want to cry my eyes out

Right now, I have difficulty with being in my bed; my inner thighs literally burn, my left upper thigh is numb/tingling, and my upoer right thigh burns and tingles painfully. I currently sleep in a wing chair because being in bed is so painful. I'm looking to get a recliner/bed so I can sleep downstairs and also be discreet. My husband has been so supportive, and it's hard not to sleep together. I suffered a psychotic episode a couple of weeks ago, and was in hospital 10 days due to everything the stroke did to me. But, I now have home health care(which I didn't have due to having no insurance), and my disability Reinstatement was approved(maybe telling the agent I suffered a breakdown helped?). I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, as this affected me physically, psychologically, financially, and relationships. I found you ladt summer, and the advice has been spot on. I will be contributing once I get my money. Thank you for what you do!!!

Thanks! My husband just had a massive stroke on October 29th. He's still in the ICU and I'm just trying to learn what if anything, I can do to help bring him back to me. I found your videos and I can sometimes imagine he and I working together to at least partially reclaim the life we had before.

Hello Elyse, thank you for your hopeful, helpful info. I had a Cerebellar stroke a week ago and am back home now wondering how much to do immediately. I am unbelievably blessed that I have no motor, verbal or cognitive damage. However for sure concrete has been poured into my limbs and I feel exhausted 99% of the time! I am keen to push through and physically/ mentally exercise but don't know how to make the best use of the teaspoon of energy that does happen each day or if it's important to start right away even through the tiredness and leaden sense. Thank you for your beautiful calm encouraging presentation. Pauline x

@@DominicRoche-rr1lr hi there, I feel for you, it's a rough place. However I have to tell you that 7 months on I am pretty much back to pre stroke wellness! It took a full 3 months for the really tough symptoms to settle down and I thought the residual exhaustion, lack of motivation for anything were the new normal. Though I have to say since Christmas I have turned the corner. I have energy and drive to do ordinary things. If I have an off day I just rest up but it isn't very often. I still am on all the meds, no reduction, and go to physio twice a week but that's more because it is a government requirement (in France) to prevent older people falls. So yes it's really pretty good, the fear of another one has lifted completely. Good luck with the journey it really is worth following all the advice. Pauline

"Three years ago, I had a stroke, affecting the right thalamus, and for three years I have been doing your seven exercises daily. I walk 10,000 steps every day and do daily strength training with light dumbbells (3kg). Actually, I don't have any limitations in my movements, but since the beginning, I have this sensation in my left extremities, as if a clamp has been placed around my arm, chest, and leg. I am a mathematician and initially feared that the stroke would affect my mental abilities, but that is not the case. I try to engage in mathematical tasks daily, which I still manage easily. Your exercises help me a lot, and the moral support from your side is very helpful. Thank you for that."

Can WE use électro stimulation with strok patient
@PostStrokeOrg
@PostStrokeOrg 9 ай бұрын
Well, as with most things in stroke recovery, it depends on the patient’s individual situation. There are certain reasons why you wouldn’t want to use e stim, like if someone has a pacemaker. Talk with your doctor or therapist to make sure it’s right for you!

Thank you. I was having a really hard day and needed this today. I'm 3.5 years post and have left side hemiparisis, in addition I am experiencing nerve and muscle weakness on my right upper extremity making everything hard. Not having 1 good working hand is very difficult. I just started PT & OT to help find solutions. This video really resonated with me today! Thank you!
