I want to add two important details about Yu's radio for anyone interested in buying it: 1) Yu has given great/speedy customer service via email and his private FB group; he provides updates on patches and videos on how things are progressing. 2) The only issues that now remain are software related; a majority have already been taken care of; to avoid becoming stuck offering customers perpetual patches like Xiegu, Yu is considering making his code open source this year!

Great activation. I saw when you were spotted but I didn't have the opportunity to get on the air. Sounds like I'd have been in the skip zone anyway. I did my first activation last weekend at a local park and 20 was ridiculously good while everything else was just dead. I don't do nearly enough 20 meters lol.

I've had the Wolf River Coil 213" telescoping whip for about a year. It's easily one of my favorite antennas--as long as it's not too windy, LOL. I do notice that the lengths for resonance differ when I use it on a mag mount vs. aground rod and mirror mount with radials.

The 17' whip is the single handiest and easiest to deploy antenna I have. Mobile mirror mount attached to a long nail, stick it in the ground, throw out a few radials and your done. I work 40m when paired with the SlideWinder.

Great video Walt. If you felt overwhelmed dealing with that pile up it didn't show. I thought you handled it great! It gets easier the more that you do & I would say that it doesn't really phase me now. Shame POTA doesn't drum up that much activity here in the UK. Having said that, post a spot on SOTA or WWFF & you often get a nice pile up to keep you busy for a while. I think the most chaotic WWFF pile up I ever had went on for slightly over an hour & the final count was something in the region of 110 stations.....I was fairly broken by the end of that! Keep up the good work.

Hi Walt, I've got the same telescopic whipp as you and I mount it the same way as well work's really well, try your slide winder loading coil with it should give you 60 and 40 meters I also use a common mode choke at the antenna end of the feeder, cheers Walt, Adam G7CRQ

Hi Terry, yes it gets very warm. I’ve operated it for a couple hours straight and it was very warm. I just cut it off and let it cool down. I haven’t done anything yet, maybe a heat sink would help. Thanks for the kind words!

Wow, great little radio ! The smallest radio I have is a G-90. I got on 20 this mourning and was not picking up any POTA from the right coast (from Idaho). Looks like the band was short (and crappy) today. Band not the best, but you made a lot of contacts ! The specs on the advertisements say it's a 10 watt radio. You said you are pushing 20 watts. Has there been an upgrade or did you just misspeak ? Always enjoy your videos Walt. 73. P.S. I'm still waiting for my cup of DB's (seawater)
