Grew up with this dish in the Uk.We used beef mince instead of Pork.Have never used meat spice.And the potatoes were browner Then mixed and put back in the oven.Has nothing to do,with lasagne.Two,different dishes.

You do not have to follow a recipe to the letter, I never use oil when frying minced meat it contains it’s own fat. I do wonder why every recipe these days contains Garlic, a lot of people do not like it personally I detest the stuff and it’s smell. The idea of this recipe is nice but I would have to adapt it to my taste, less/no oil. No garlic and mashed potato instead of cubed in other words traditional English Shepherds Pie.
