This game is why I run the "More Barbarian XP" mod that makes barb combat stay at 4 XP instead of falling off to 1. It's cheesy to use to intentionally farm barbs to max out units, but it makes fighting off barbarian invasions feel a lot less like a complete waste of resources and time.

The lack of proper map exploration 200+ turns into the game is a concern, especially as I distinctly remember inadequate exploration being one of Potato's points of critique in one of his viewer disaster save videos; just look at all those unused envoys (nearly 15 by the end of the video). And AI unwillingness to give you open boarders is no excuse, since religious units disregard closed boarders, bypassing the issue.

Inflation is a funny word that means the people who run shit are intentionally increasing prices of stuff to further impoverish the vast majority of people. It's price manipulation. There's no "intentions hand."

To say that inflation is just an increase in the prices of things doesn't really properly explain what inflation is. It's more to do with a decrease in the purchasing value of one specific currency, not necessarily an actual increase in the cost of items. This is especially noticeable when the prices go up in one currency but not in another one.

I have to note this, your take on inflation is also wrong, it is technically how much the money has devalued, so 20 money is not the same as 20 money after 10% inflation it would be equal to 18 before inflation, so now the price has to be 22 or they would be selling their products cheaper than pre inflation times. The effect on prices are just a regulation to counter this devaluation.

BTW, you are totally wrong about inflation. It is normally measured against the same month from the previous year. So, the prices might go down, when the yearly inflation goes down. To know that, you need to analyse the changes of inflation in the recent past, the number alone won't tell you much.
