I agree that an 'Age of Wonders: Total War' would be great. The Total War Warhammer games are pretty popular, but the fact that it's limited to the one map is pretty limiting. It would be cool to have a map that spans multiple planets, and your goal is to conquer the opponent's planet through astral realm portals.

well, in wh3 they set some portals to chaos realms in the map, so they could do what you want. Though it's still the same map, just away from everything else and only connected via portals

My first install I really couldn't get it going. I did play for 100 hours, but it felt repetitive somehow. When I tried again last summer I thought it was great fun! I actually restrained myself from playing on as I didn't have any expansions and will only dive into the game again after getting all the expansions. So sometimes you need to give it another good go to really get into a game. I'm going to wait for a really good offer for the expansions. I've allready bought the game on release which I never do anymore these days, but I really like Triumph studios and AOW3 is one of my most played games ever so they deserved that, but I can't just flush all my money on games. I need to be picky :)

Been playing regularly since launch, the new expansion plus the update is the best thing that has happened to this game, but since the beginning I wish that's possible to share resources between your cities, maybe someday the devs realize the potencial of markets and guilds.

Huh... forgot I was not subbed yet. Remedied, as I love your content. Age of Wonders 4 just is a gem of a game. Am personally always distracted by other games so only have a mere 100 hours put into it just yet but it just keeps on giving. Right now am trying to finish the last base story scenario (Grexolis I think it is called?) and I've been sitting here for days, unable to complete it. Currently enamoured with the Reaver culture. Any tips?

I have newgameitus with this game. The early game is a ton of fun, but I so rarely FINISH a game because the late game doesn't have the same pop. Which is sad, I know, because the metagame is all about getting new characters into your pantheon and such.

Play the Story Realms or Premium Challenge Realms (DLC realms) with their own unique win conditions and limitations. They certainly make every playthrough different and interesting enough to keep coming back.

I tried the new update and it is better structured and the new things in it are really fun. I also like the events. I think they are more topic based? So if you're evil, will the content of the hero's events actually be even more evil? At least that was my first impression.

I dont like strife, becouse the bonus damage only works if you are outnumbered. Most other things on strife is better then other subfactions of oathsworn.

Heroes are extremely buffed from before. The overall power in the skill tree is much higher. It is more restrictive because of a class system, but the overall power and options are higher in exchange for the more defined roles.

There is nothing addicted in this boring easy game. Fights on the map are easy-peasy, clearing infestation is a piece of cake with 2 heroes and no matter Tier1 units on brutal difficulty and Major AI Advantage. There is a very small challenge defending beacons but only for the first AI attacking wave. After that AI start spamming only tier1 units in his army and it's boring chasing them up and down on the map.
