Funny thing. You don’t see Henri much. But I have been burned down in my Kremlin twice by this ship. Both times… the Henri captain took the time to apologize for how annoying it is to be defenseless against it’s insane HE dpm.

I always enjoy my Henri! You lacks some utility, but with the lighthousebuild it's still a fun challange, and it just does so much damage! Getting the buff is a nice bonus, even if I don't see why it needs it!😅

My fav Tier X cruiser to this day. I love her guns! I didn't know about this buff!? Most of the time the enemy gets tired to fail the shots and just forget you. I have had very epic battles with this ship and I think that is what I like the most about it; being one of the last standing ships (because again, most of the time enemies get frustrated and just shoot to another ship, at least, this is my experience with Henri :D)

I was crushed when they nerfed her! At that time I was absolutely a henri main with hindy close behind. One of my favorite "games within the game" is active maneuvering. She has always got her time with me, but I am VERY glad to hear she back to the capabilities she used to have!

I'm on the EU server and whenever i queue up theres always 150 battleships in queue compared to like 30-40 cruisers. Great video btw :)

I do have a question. Is it better for Henri to put more utility with her consumables with the 2 points extension of the speed boost and the one point to shorten the cooldown the MBRB or to go for full lighthouse build (maybe with Condé it could make more sense) Also 32:00 it could be interesting to grind with the new supercruiser line coming (yeah the things with turtleback and space armor with a hidden 80 mm plate) if people don't want to have the whole token point shenanigan (just save the tier 8 and have the guns and the range mod upgraded that should do it)

Thank you PQ for mentioning the dispersion. I have noticed a severe issue lately. In my Lenin…a Lenin… so rail guns. Easily the most consistent accurate guns in my port. I have missed broad side BB’s from under 10 km. 9 shells…. High, low, wide. I have one where I plunked 9 shells into the water when aiming at the upper belt of a GK from 4 km. It’s so frustrating.

Same happened to me. Was in a Yamato about 10km from broadside Anchorage who came from behind an ilsand. I was already locked on so I shot and almost all shells landed in the water all around him as if i had no lockon and got maybe an overpen or 2. Esports ready game BTW

WG has been doing silent nerfs,even on the Petro don't get near the cids ,they are always doing shit to the game behind our backs. Break some ships replace with new ones to make money.

Missed 3 salvos on a Minsk with my Lyon from 6 to 9 km. This guy was just there under my nose for almost 2 minutes unpunished. I have no idea what WG is doing.

i just grinded the henri in 2023 . hvnt played it yet but the st louis was a hit or miss! 32k vs 120k damage games(airship). just did it for the conde so here's hoping .

I've noticed on world of warships Legends that it's always the first shot where you get the worst dispersion especially if one is wearing a skin where it makes it 4.5 incoming dispersion I assume it's the same on PC

Notice same dispersion issues for last 2-3 weeks . I do believe have something to do with servers / time outs or whatever is call.I know ,i do have a maybe 0.7 to 1 sec delay on my internet , but its very notifiable as u say it. WG have some problems who are not address or not over look , including the " sticky" parts around islands and no way out after 5 min struggle with auto pilot and server respond . Any one else have same issues ?

It's still not the old Henri which was 40 sec/20 sec....now it's 60 sec/50 sec. A little more usable. Might actually see Henri in matches.

I play mainly BB on EU and it's not uncommon for when I que up for there to be 100+ BB in line and basically none of anything else. Maybe 10 of each other classes. So yeah way diffent.

Great video. THIS IS WORNG AND OUTDATED: One important note though: with the IFHE rework, Henri with IFHE now has 50mm of HE pen rather than 51+mm which means it cannot pen russian cruiser decks because I believe the mechanics are that the HE pen has to be greater than the armor. Hence why its rare to see any IFHE Henri builds.

No, that is not true. You can pen 50mm, i.e. Russian cruiser deck armour. However, there are ships in the game with 51mm of deck armour, like Incomparable, where you shatter (unlike big cruisers with 305mm of kaliber).

Not anymore, you don't see a lot of IFHE henri's just because it cuts in half its fire starting potential, which was his strength back when there was the henri spam meta, so before the IFHE rework + engine acceleration nerf wombo combo that wiped henri off the competitive meta.

@@Gr3yGhost You right, I was lied to. The armor threshold peneetration was changed with the IFHE rework, at least according to the wiki. Pre rework "If the thickness of the armor is equal to or greater than the shatter threshold, the shell shatters. On the other hand, if the shatter threshold is strictly greater than the thickness of the armor, it penetrates." Post rework: "If the armor is greater than this HE penetration value the shell shatters; if the armor is less or equal this value the shell penetrates." Both quotes taken from the wiki

I find it weird that WOW allows multiple ips to quickly switch after disconnecting. Normally a game would refuse you until the older connection times out.

This is one of those ships i truly struggle with. Lighthouse or conventional builds, and i just take severe damage. I angle or speed duke, but all too often if im angled against one enemy another is getting me from another side. These cruisers will be the cause of my premature hair loss i swear.

Just use the regular builds if you had some struggle and trying to flank as much as possible, dont go middle you're not petro anyway lol

Henri was my first TX ship and I really really sucked with this, I felt it was a kind of paper ship. I gave it another chance after 6 months because I like french cruisers and I improved a lot; now it's my favorite TX cruiser. Flank and take advantage of your long-range. And this is the most important tip that helped me a lot, Idk if you use a full stealth build (I'm not) but when you noticed you're detected at the beginning of the match start to turn to the other side at full speed and speed booster because Henri is a big ship and very easy to citadel so everybody will try to kill you when they noticed you received good damage. Then look at the map and see where is safe to flank. Use Sierra Mike flag if possible, I never take out this ship without this flag.

Dispersion w/o auto aim (target locked) is horrendous, if possible when blind firing a target, I try to get a lock on any ship in range then blind fire the target the dispersion is noticeable. R&G can still troll you though 😁

In PQ's first match you do see him getting a dispersion spread against the shikishima (14:36) that looks like it is without a locked target, but he clearly has him locked. The next salvo does provide a nice contrast on what would be expected when locked to a ship. My guess would be that it is less due to RNG, and more that the game sometimes just forgets you have an enemy target locked.

14:38 What are you talking about? That dispersion looks pretty normal to me as I get that all the time. Jokes aside, somewhat, Its like the game, servers or both struggle to keep up as you stated. Its like the game needs 3-5s, or more, to realize you're looking at a target. Especially if you look around. I've also noticed the game refusing to acknowledge your trying to target a different ship. For example, a target I'm shooting at goes nose-in making further shooting futile or a enemy suddenly pops up broadside, I'll look at a new target but the lock-on doesn't change to the new ship. It become so common for me that I have to manually disengage the lock and manually re-engage on the target I want to shoot.

@@reftouswarships6731 I’ve grinded to the Hindenburg and avg over 100k in that so I’m decent at least with that line. Use AP on broadsides for sure. Don’t care much about your lack of fires or alpha when using HE because the HE has such good pen it rarely shatters. Get ready for the Roon tho that ship blows.

@@mikkodoria4778 it’s different, I don’t own a henri but I would say Carnot will never had that explosive dpm like Henri w/h the reload booster does. Lots people find the Carnot trash because it’s dpm is bad, turning is slow. I ran double rudder shift, with that engine boost and it’s okay tankiness. I find myself duke a lot shells in mid-range, it’s more close to the upcoming French super cruiser line. Except it’s probably gonna get power creep by the tech tree variant(if they don’t nerf it )

I've recently turned off my Target tracking and I found my rounds tend to land where I aim a lot more consistently, even if the dispersion is still wtf. Especially against targets that are rapidly turning.

I don't really see a role for the Henri these days. If i want long range HE spam without armor i take the Yoshino. It lacks the speed and reload, but the torps can be really fun and you get better pen + DMG on those guns. Another ship that takes a similar role is the Goliath which also works better because with the correct angle you can bounce every shell in the game. Henri is that ship i really struggle with. It's too squishy for the angling type gameplay of the Goliath, but not quite as good as the Yoshino in the longer range role and the speed doesn't help me with dodging and i take massive hits. From the opposite side i enjoy shooting french cruisers even in USN BBs because it's guaranteed massive DMG from every angle.

the dispersion problem is, that the lock doesent seem to be accepted in time. i call serverdelay, but there are no problems with the servers! For me its that i have to aim 2km behind a ship to hit he sometimes, especially with russian ships.

Honestly this was a much needed buff, but I feel it needed a tiny bit more. Good news is my average damage per match has gone up for the Henri.

OG Herri with its speed boost running was an absolute nightmare to deal with, as it used to be almost able to start and stop on a dime, so WarGambling nerfed the base acceleration to be worse than BB's. This caused Henri to fall out of favour with players. Then we got the rise and proliferation of overmatching 457's, which basically killed off Henri play. Now, WG has buffed Henri's acceleration to make it playable, but its acceleration is still not what it used to be. Long story short, WG realized they nerfed it too hard and have undid some of it.
