I'm full resistance and no potency as a dh, not dot gems or skills. I made the mistake at the start of having potency rank 10 in the iben sanctuary, wish I could reset it

If you are going against other people with high resistance and your potency is low your cc will not last as long or I've had people who I can walk right through there walls or pillars just something to think about I really enjoy your content very informative thank you and keep up the good work.

Potency also increase your cc duration. If you're a cc build then potency is as important as well.

Thats obvious thing however it also protects you from other cc so. Personaly I use baron for extended duration. And resistance for protection.

hey, I've met you a few times on battleground. koslowski here :) your statements about armor and armor pen cannot be confirmed as you have made them. Armor doesn't reduce damage in any "flat way", it just increases the block-amount on a block. armor pen also does not increase the damage, but only the crit dmg with a crit. the fact that both are offset against each other like potency and resistance therefore makes no logical sense. the tool-tip also confirms this (with the exception of the really misleading first sentences of the respective tool-tip)

Hello. Even if its described like this ? It doesnt work for pve mosters it is correct. But we are talking about pvp. Even if it Just reduces blocked amount then you cant say " armor doesnt reduce damage in any way " How you are not able to see interaction between critical hit and block?

@@vk.videos Hi :) the first sentence in EVERY secondary tool tip gives a rough description of the functionality. the exact mode of action is shown below with green numbers. Beyond that there are no effects. Many months ago we tried to find out the reference point in pvp by which the effectiveness of armor and armor pen is determined. It quickly "becomes clear" that it cannot be the opponent's armor or armor pen, since extreme differences in effectiveness are hardly noticeable. Additionally, as described, offsetting the two doesn't make any logical sense (like you can't block crits) - the tool tip also gives no clear indication of an off-setting. But potency and resistance do. I think it will be one of the next topics to be data mined, similar to CR offset in pvp. some data miners are currently involved.

@@Koslowski_Monk thats the problem that crit can not be blocked. However if it would be possible then same amount of armor pen and armor does 0 effect. Just count it for yourself. Thats why any build around gloom is so effective since there is nothing you can do to be protected aginst it.

@@vk.videos I'm totally with you. if blocking is actually the only "defensive mechanic" but crits bypass it. Therefore in pvp, gloom and sader banners are very, very strong and cannot be countered... anyway, keep up the work on your channel. really nice videos :) and I'm also curious when we'll find out the truth about armor and armor pens.
