I stopped buying the battlepass when I capped Fervent Fang. I'm 3k res. Never bought anything else. I'm glad I did that. And I'm glad to be where I'm at. And will slowly swap in a few more 4/5 rank 5, 5-star gems. Besides the roiling consequences in my floating auxiliary,. I'm not missing much. In other words... I like the $5 battle pass for what it has been worth to me previously. But it would have to be 10 pearls to get me to bite now. 5 and 5 on both sides.

I've done some similar analysis myself. What would be interesting to compare, is the account progress of a F2P Player vs. Monthly Battle Pass Player after 6 months or 1 year. (Assuming they are both equal in daily activities/WB etc.) This would illustrate the "difference" the the BP and/or Boon actually makes

Hey you forgot the seasonal Prodigies path .. As far as I am concerned the prodigies path,boon of pleanty and empowered battle pass are the best value in the game .. And it is ok to buy a good bundle once in a while .However if you are not paying your bills because of the money you are spending on this game.you need to rethink your life and what is actually important ...

To Nickel _T, u are spot on. I've been saying those in the comments and the assumed "other" DA channel I'm sure we feel is the same one. Its sad ,correct that, funny, to have said creator still claim to be F2P, oh wait, a battle pass, yet recently is doing 100, yes 100, crest runs which seem weekly now. On top of it, all of a sudden every package now, (usually the 50-100 packs, are such a great deal. Listen, whenever you spend someone else's money, EVERYTHONG is a great deal!. These young kids see this and well, yknow. But when u get "donations and gifts" ,I personally like the ones from Blizzard themselves honestly, I think there should be guidelines about telling people to buy, great bargain packs, when being "gifted" everything from cosmetics that cost a few days pay, to weekly 100 crest runs. Kinda a conflict of interest no? Anyway, this channel is awesome. This guy is hard to keep up with in a mathematical sense, and I'm saying this in a good way! He knows his stuff and think he'd never have what amounts to an only fans page for DI.

I'm 100% F2P (no battlepass or boon etc) and have managed to get 2,472 resonance. It helped that I joined one top 3 clan on server and have been immortal 4 times, 2 of which resulted in blessed reign, which gave me more keys and legendary crests than I could otherwise earn. I would encourage F2P players if they have time to complete as many shadow tasks as possible, to message and apply to competitive clans. Many will take low reso players that contribute with dailies.

In fact there's nothing fun at all in PVP since it's no brainer PVP is heavily P2W but that alone doesn't hold you back from having fun on other parts of the game. Who cares about PVP ? Being able to beat a high res player is fun to you ? You must be a child.

I've spent 0 dollars on the game but I've had good luck with gem drops. i have three 2 star gems(mothers lament, viper and pain clasp) and five 3/5 star gems(starfire, roiling, seeping bile(with void aux), zwenson(with BSJ aux), and gloom cask) I'm almost at 2k reso so i cant complain, and with tempest class i'm doing ok even in 3k reso lobbies in pvp

Congratulations on your growth. I started playing this Diablo game as all the ones before. The understanding that one day it will die and pass away like all the others. You either play until the end or quit. Sadly most of the players i started playing with since day one have quit. Everyone of them complained about the oay to win mechanism in this Diablo. If a player cant see it is a whale competition for those who have money to burn then they are blind. It takes money to compete PVP in this Diablo but of you just enjoy the game and aren't worried about whaling out you should be just fine. You're going to keep playing and grinding your gear and gems. It had never been a fair game for the no spending community in the game. I still play and organize my own clan knowing some of them will quit and some will whale out. I just enjoy helping them accomplish their goal on their journey to complete their game goal. It is definitely good to have friends in high places and not make enemies in Diablo. So spend money or grind thats the question in everyone's head. Ill keep playing until the switch off the servers 😊

You are forgetting the impact of hilts. You can get 4-5 rare crests a day using hilts, plus a rare crest a month (more if you are immortal), and 1 pearl a week. You can also buy 1 star legendary gem using hilts. Battlepass is a good source of hilts for this. Running elder rifts (with crests) also gets you the essence that allows you to craft 4 eternal legendary crests every 3 weeks.

I don't think the $5 battle pass counts in THIS game. Most games, that's the whole thing. But in a game where you need to spend thousands to matter at all within the first three months of playing... The $5 battle pass is literally nothing. Making a .001% difference by purchasing three of them. With enough play time to unlock the BP all three months. Thus F2P around here equals 0-$5 a month. Low spender is up to $50 a month. Mid spender is $200 max a month. Big spender up to 1k. Whales above 1k every month on average, with a minimum of 10k spent on the game. And yes, if someone has been playing for a year and only spent 10k, that's not a whale. Just a big, big spender. And I consider myself F2P. Only having bought the battle passes to get Fervent Fang to rank 10. Which is less than half the months I've played. If it wasn't for the Fang, I never would have done it. To get me to buy the $5 pass now, they'd have to give you 10 pearls. 5 and 5. Half at the top. And half at the end. Otherwise, nope. I grind my balls off in that game. With alts. To be honest, if the absolute MOST anyone could spend on the game was $20 a month... I'd probably buy whatever it was every single month because it would make me competitive at the very top of the game. But someone can spend $500 every single month and be nowhere NEAR the top. So what the hell kind of difference is $20 or even $100 a month going to give your end results? Nowhere NEAR the top. How much is it going to change your gameplay experience, really?? No. In a game like this, go big if you can REALLY afford it, or don't bother spending anything at all after you cap your FF.

You make an excellent point. Recently, I was reading post from one "whale" (he call him self that:), about how this game works only because of them. They are pushing game, and that 20% of them in game should get better treatment. He spend 10k bucks to get Rolling C to rank 10. He and many of them do not understand that this is competitive game between people, and, money is cheat code. To be clear, I am definitely for to buy offers from game and support it. However, average player, spender, no spender is core of this game. Whales are here as more fortunate and should be grateful that they are part of competitive community that understand them and support them. I would implement in game that you can reword other player with 100, 300 and 500 orbs gifts. In that way player's could sent "tips" to other players who open Heliquary for them or fight in pvp events and bring victory. Well, it's is idea that sooner or later will came in game.

Your several thousand dollars of pumped avatar, needs someone to kill. Killing the same whale over and over wold be boring sooner. Also, remember, that money is cheat code in game. You will not get 1k reso in one week with playing with skills. Every player who plays the game is supporting the game, paying or not.

That 25 euro, combined with active playing give value that is coming from 800k players. Well, if 200k player's go out from DI tomorrow, game can live with that. If 800k player's, 80% go out from the game, well, no amount of whales and money can save it.

Boon of Plenty has 2 major defects: 1. Tourmalines. Who cares for them? They sell for almost nothing. Nobody cares much for red gems due to strifing in pvp and pve content is easy enough anyway. So this is a bogus gain. 2. We still cannot pick 2 telluric pearls instead of a 2-star gem.

@fredysugianto6357 turmalines gives negligible amount of damage that's why. This is pretty much nothing compared to other stats like armor pen etc. I mean turmaline damage to your total damage ratio. I believe it is intentional to push you into improving resonance, which in case od damage an hp seems to be better booster.

Diablo Immortal is not P2W unless you are fighting for immortal. You can do everything F2P and succeed as long as you grind. BG is not as bad cause they match you up with similar resonance. For those who complain are the ones who are not too good at the game.

If one is unable to find a clan and warband to join, and is unable to get other dolphins or high spenders to carry them in raids, soon they will get bored and tired as unable to progress in games, many people including myself has given up on F2P, and I’m from Anu server.

@@Seramics nothing wrong. Just saying 2 years ago when game first launched, after weeks many peers left this game. Open World is quiet. After a few months I was still an adventurer stuck in Hell 3, little that I know majority were already in Hell 6 Hell 7 already. In the past, you need 4 people to queue Dungeons, and in order to up CR, you need to first farm Open World, then proceed to Dungeons to get the correct CR before going into the next difficulty. I’m one of the few with extremely high paragon levels as compared to other players in Hell 7, who finally gave up and spend thousands of dollars to boost my Resonance to visit Hell 5 before someone spotted me wandering around in Open World struggling with Blue Elites with his alternate F2P account, a Smurf Dolphin. I was using pure damage and life to tank through every single mobs in Open World with below CR, avoiding Yellows and Purples. Can’t even solo Goblins before they escaped, and cannot even do Cursed Chest to get bonus chest. I’ve no concept of this game and wasn’t aware what is CR. I didn’t know I was suffering huge penalties in Hell 4 already let alone Hell 5. I don’t even play things like Wizard or Monk, I played tank and tank every single PvE in Open World. I didn’t know dealing White Numbers is very pathetic. I wasn’t aware I was abandoned in Hell 3.

@@Muhib1 no, I beg to differ, that’s not possible for me, and you misunderstood I’m not referring to a carry, I’m referring to empty worlds with no visible players inside. You’re the only one running alone even in Westmarch. Back in the early days the difficulty levels of the Open World do not integrate with each other, players from different difficulty levels will never see each other in game, you can stand in front of every dungeon opening for the longest time and you’ll be all alone and no one to queue with you. Also are you forgetting in the early days in the July 2022, there’s no such things as mode Random Dungeon? Moreover at that time servers aren’t merge yet. The only way to queue for dungeons is to personally visit the opening location of the specific dungeons and wait for a full 4-player party which will never happen, as no one is in that difficulty level anymore. Are you also forgetting Hidden Lairs can not be played solo? You need a party of 4-players from the same difficulty as you are to enter. You do not need a clan back in 2022-July, You just need someone alive! You get it? Are you an exactly a player from the first day or not or are you only recently joined this game when Blizz has already made it friendly for new players to join?

So that was a cost breakdown, not an answer to the question "IS IT WORTH TO BE FREE TO PLAY?". I'll give an honest answer. As a F2P if you ignore PvP and only PvE it is barely worth it considering you can get the cheapest Steam Deck for $60 more and play real Diablo on a mobile device. If you love to farm and grind by killing NPCs over and over again the game is for you as a F2P. Half the game is centered around PvP and as a F2P you will die in a second. If you are ok with being shut out of half the games content then this game is for you. As a reminder this game is designed to make you spend by frustrating you. Ultimately the game wants you to spend.
