I am really not seeing this at all. The transmitter is just ok - it needs a diversity setup and a stronger repeater., thats why the DJI system is better.

@@DadRandom You definitely had issues check out other videos. I just watched a guy in an area with businesses and homes spread out so more interface than where you are make it to 11.5k feet out. This dude is likely correct on your range issues.

Pointer for connection issues, keep an eye on your radar, you'll both turn from blue to green when your pointed directly at the drone which has always corrected most lag or connection issues

From my research there are ZERO ND filters or Wide Angle Adapters or ANY accessories available for Potensic Drones. To date anyway. If they sell a half million of them, that could happen.. Don't count on it though.

The feathered Karen bird on the fence post was griping at you [4:55]. Good field test. Watched it on a 4K monitor. The gimbal produced nice smooth video and it flew a good distance. And the app looks nice with ability to make camera adjustments. Auto white balance was indecisive (before you set it to manual 👍) and footage seemed overly contrasty -- but maybe not unexpected for 1/3 sensor. A little disappointed that there wasn't a walk of shame involved -- not even an ebike ride of shame 🙁

It's so funny that I wanted the fimi v2 mini because I love the large v2 fimi a beast of a drone 2 years later and kicking ass as always but I opted for this one instead of sticking to the fimi tradition and because of all the disconnects I've heard over the fimi mini v2 and camera issues this one is as close as it gets to mini 2 Se.. The range in suburb is way better than fimi mini v2 easily 700 plus meters without disconnect app is instant which is the best of all and range tests along beach with mini 2 Se and this one is as close as it gets and from the sd card the video without adjustment is flawless!!!! And in calm conditions battery life is excellent!!

This drone is good but is not a replacement for a DJI mini 2 SE or equivalent. Buyers need to start doing the research. And check out the video output from users. If you are trying to keep cost down and do not mind a lower video quality. Then you can purchase one of these.

Why SHOULDN'T folks compare it the the Mini 2 SE? It's the direct competition that Potensic built this to take sales from. Correction: as far as the aircraft, it's a direct copy, with the only notable exception is DJI's swivel joint on the rear arms, which no one copies due to patents or IP for whatever legal reason. If people are buying this instead of the Nini 2 SE, comparisons are fair game.

I've realised with little bugger when powering on because of underneath powering on you must waste no time in placing it on take of position... Otherwise it will death spiral.. Power it place it immediately to take of position and you reduce the chance of toilet bowl and I promise you that's why it does it.. If you power it on and walk a tad too far even five feet you increase the chance or bad position hold or toilet bowl... End of story if yu power these on from the top it would barely happen... The two issues after powering on are toilet bowl and incorrect attitude or gps positioning in app only due to taking to long in hand after power on and placing to take off position...

@@DadRandom what I just said.. You own dji drones so you know the importance of them..!! They haven't got that fixed yet it is handy since I use it in fimi drones..! Flight logs are useful if the drone fell or malfunctioned to the company if you wanted to get replacement under warranty...

@RobinDrones Agreed. In terms of strict adherence to VLOS/BLOS rules, it may be 100% acceptable for close-in work. But if there ARE signal weakness, or unreliability issues, I think folks would be interested in knowing thar when comparing this to Mini 2 SE. The original DJI Mini of 2018 was strictly WiFi for both Command & Control and FPV feed. As of the Mini 2, DJI went to Occusync 2.0 (still a form of WiFi, technically, but able to do advanced band and frequency hopping thar creates amazing signal reliability. My Mini 4 Pro/Air 3 drones are on O4, and let's just say, I could be out several km's/miles, be facing the wrong way and be behind a concrete ww2 bunker and STILL have reliable signal 😏🙄

@underpressureracingLS thanks for clearing that up, but to be honest the range isn't really that big of a problem considering that in most countries you must always maintain line of sight and from what i can tell the camera on the mini 2 se is better in many ways especially the white balance and dynamic range but have you considered that you can get the potensic fly more combo for almost 100 usd less currently?

@underpressureracingLS Specs are facts. If specs don't mean anything, then neither do facts, by your own statement. Nothing you said makes sense, or correates to the multitude of objective reviews of the Atom in the past month. The Mini SE has no tracking ability, while the Atom has a good performing tracking function. The only thing DJI destroys the Potensic on is price, and not in a good way.

They missed the single most important part of the drones application that the flight log system should work.. It does not work and I have mention it to them because it seems convienient that if the flight log worked then a drone under warranty can be replaced by proof of malfunction.. It's how dji do it and fimi so they need to sort this out fast.. I don't really care but for new buyers overlooking the importance of the flight log as proof is useless if it's not operating... It still has been overlooked.. Flight log is like insurance when something happens that shouldn't happen...!!

It's magnometer is for me very sensitive and prone to death spiral... Asks for calibration at least mine is too often... I've tried demagnatising it and ah see if it helps.. Wasn't sensitive for me in the suburb but rather has become sensative..??!!!

I've got this drone and when the gimbal is pointing directly down at 90 degrees, when you move forward or backwards it flicks up to 80% Does anyone else's do this? Or is mine faulty? Thanks

The atom is not a NASA rocket 🚀 I know what this thing can and can’t do. It is a knockoff product that uses common software that is in multiple toy drones. There is little to learn unlike the DJI products that actually change flight features and camera capabilities. I think the Potensic Atom is a good bird, but I will be honest, and recommend a DJI product any day of the week

What they didn't improve was the follow-me feature. Instead they thought it was a good idea to go crappy active-track that only tracks from behind. And since I wasn't born with eyes in the back of my head, and since it doesn't have obstacle avoidance, the feature is completely useless. You see, drone reviewers crawl out of their truck, stand on one spot, and fly the drone around a bit. Most people get a drone to film their activities such as riding a bike on a long trip. What could have been a true alternative to a DJI Mini is now just another 13 in a dozen drone for lazy asses looking for long range. If that is what you want then why a mini drone? Are you afraid it won't fit in your pickup truck? The whole idea of a mini drone is you can put it in your pocket and launch it instantly within seconds. And before you say people should get a DJI Mini 3 Pro or 4 Pro because of the tracking feature and obstacle avoidance, well people crash all the time. To make optical tracking work it has to fly close and low exactly where all the hazards are. Also, try to use that inner/outer circle thing on a touchscreen while riding a bike. Simply impossible. You have to stop and stop and stop again. After a couple tries it's so annoying nobody uses active-track again. But a properly programmed follow-me, that is something people will use. Unfortunately very few drones are programmed correctly. One drone that everything exactly right is my $130 LYZRC L109 Pro. You can put it anywhere and it will stay north south east west. You can move the sticks anytime. And it even automatically updates homepoint. The camera and gimbal are poor quality. But imagine this Potensic with a couple extra lines programming code in the app. It would blow any DJI completely out of the sky as a hiker/biker drone. Drone reviewers only look at the video quality and range. But if you can't use a drone you won't have footage at all. Why those drone manufacturers keep removing follow-me I have no idea. Obviously they are all locked up and never get to really use a drone in real life.
