Can you change the Home Location of the Potensic whilst in flight? I want something to fly from a boat

You can update the home point. I would not suggest doing that from a boat though. The boat will drift. You want to hand catch the drone.

Hmmm, the Neo does a good job of avoiding but it does not have obstacle avoidance sensors. The Mini 3 Pro could be a good option.

I have the mini3 and also the mini4 pro. Mini4 is great and cutting edge technology. Mini3 is my daily carry and best bang for the buck. I got my fly more kit on sale for $500 shipped. You cant beat that for the reliability and video quallity

related subject. I was planning on getting an upgrade to the DJI. I live in Spain and all the KZbin videos explaining the licensing requirements for drones in the EU are totally confusing. Perhaps you could do a video expelling exactly what is required (Area 1/3 license on line? registering with the authority? done insurance?) - Thanks

@DansTubeTV. One big advantage with a Potensic Atom drone, even for commercial pilots, is the fact that it has no Geo fencing. When I’m in the area doing a simple real estate shoot and I can’t put my DJI up because I’m in a restricted airspace. I can definitely put up my Potensic Atom. In less than five minutes, I’ve done all five shots.

That is fair enough, geo fencing is there for a reason though. We need to follow rules and flying within a restricted air space is not allowed in most scenarios without approval. You just need to make sure that you’re not flying in the departure and landing path.

how's the signal strength ? i heard that potensic atom only use 2.4Ghz and dji mini 3 has dual band so if you fly in urban city or residential area i think Potensic atom is gonna struggle.

The Atom can struggle. I would say that DJI Mini drones have the better range.

My Atom drone, on it's first programed flight to go staight ahead, flew 80 feet and then turned 90 degrees and crashed into a tree. One arm broke. I can't get fixed by Potensic. Three months old. No more Protensic.. I'm out $400. I talked to Potenic support for 3 months. Buyer beware !!

A DJI Mini with Maven, Dronelink or Litchi is a much better drone for hikers and certainly bikers. Because then you will have follow-me as well instead of only the often unreliable and unpredictable optical active-track. The Potensic app to my knowledge doesn't even have the very important homepoint-update option. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

@@DansTubeTV Definitely something you should test. My cheap L109 Pro auto-updates homepoint in follow-me mode. But that is GPS. Don't ask me if that is the software in the drone, or the app, or both. I really don't know. I wish I could program to correct what the Chinese did wrong! And I'm not against optical tracking. But it is not a replacement for follow-me. A good drone should have both.

I’m saying that ActiveTrack following where it is algorithm based using vision can be inconsistent at times. Follow me using GPS has never failed me.

@DansTubeTV ah OK i see. Yeah, they both have their ups & downs it seems. Visual has its problems while GPS can sometimes be dodgy too although not as often. One upside of visual tracking is the ability to track any objects rather than just ones with the GPS communication with the drone. Can just select any target & track away! 🙂 Nut yeah, as someone here said, having both is the ticket!!
