she is so mean to me you have no idea... she is also wrong in almost everything... So there is 2 teacher. the main "smart teacher"then there is the co ed teacher " mean china women who thinks she knows it all".... So i asked the main teaher to fix my work and she did.. and the china teacher said the the fixed work of the main teacher was wrong and she told me i had to re do the entire thing.... BUT THE CHINA TEACHER WAS WRONG BC I WENT TO THE MAIN TEACHER AND TOLD HER.

Mr. anderson isn't the gravitational acceleration positive 9.8 m/s ?? Or am i getting something wrong here?
@glassunicorn1525
@glassunicorn1525 6 жыл бұрын
Mahima Kochar m/s are the units for velocity. You are right that gravitational acceleration is usually about 9.8m/s^2(it varies slightly with altitude). Some people put it as positive, others negative. Either way is fine as long as the sign remains the same with in a problem. For an example if you decide the downward direction is negative your gravitational acceleration will always be negative, and the same goes for positive. Hope this helped:)
@glassunicorn1525
@glassunicorn1525 6 жыл бұрын
The +/- direction thing confused me at first, just remember that the sign is just a symbol. You can decide away from the earth(up) is negative, and down is positive and vice versa.

to convert mph to m/s, just multiply your speed by 1609 (how many meters in a mile) then divide that by 3600 (how many seconds in an hour) this makes it (speed x meters)/(seconds), hence the notation, meters/second

with this video, I was able to calculate that a modified lake tahoe (lake height + 50M) and clearlake region (dammed up to 550M elevation) could power the USA's current energy needs for 7 days if converted to pumped ocean storage at 50% and 70% system efficiencies respectively. That's the time frame for which a UCSD physics professor claims that we'd not need to tap any other power source to power our country. pumping would be handled by renewables, connected, presumably, by a high voltage DC underground grid due to 2x efficiency of current high voltage AC overhead line theoretical maximum efficiency.

Interesting to the core. What if kentic energy is useful to evolve our automobiles. I don't mean to measure the energy it is traveling in, I mean energy that can be given to a automobile to set a significant forward motion. What if science can take a foot long object (strip like ) that can create potential energy and set it down on a pavement. Then take a second strip set it a foot apart and so forth for a distance of half a mile. Take a vehicle light enough and suitable to begin at one point,the first strip. And allow the first strip to generate the energy to push the vehicle forward to the next strip and then that strip to the next and so forth for that half mile distance. It could be used on our freeways and main roads. It could a beginning to revolutionizing our autos and calming its toxic waste.
