In anime the "first love" in kindergarten/grade school that somehow lasts for years is a famous trope but here it is obviously something of the past like it would be in real life Yes Momo liked that boy but that was like 10 years ago and she also hated how he was "making fun of grandma". Like in real life, the first love in grade school is something that barely affects you(unless it is the source of soem trauma I guess). Jiji being her childhood crush only affcets Okarun. Neither Momo or Jiji care, and the latter probably doesn't even know. Granny was obviously aiming for a reaction from him.

Jiji is the clown of the group/series by far, but i do feel like the anime, having voice acting and all, made him 10x funnier or annoying depending on people see him 😂 pretty much like Kobeni in CSM, giving a character voice can change a lot of things Also, i always (ME PERSONALLY) judge a character by what they are DOING or SAYING, not how they make other characters feel. Jiji made Okarun jealous, but that is not his fault at all, since he's not even trying to hit on Momo to begin with. He's just a goofer.

Another great episode!!! Jiji I feel has always been weird and extra but I feel he puts it on even more because he doesnt want his own situation to get to him or doesnt want things to be awkward like him constantly interrupting the teacher with his antics when he's explaining the tragic circumstances of why he's here. I dont think that he's just alright after parents ended up in hospital or knowing that he asked five people to help and three are unalived. There are people who either withdraw to cope or be hyper to cope but Jiji clearly is a good guy and I find his antics hilarious. I can get the other side of the coin of people like Adorkable and many others when Jiji was introduced who found him annoying and intrusive. Unfortunately one episode left so we're only going to get the tip of the iceberg with Jiji's arc. Got to wait for cour 2/season 2.

6:48 Yeah that caught my attention as well, looks familiar though and by that I mean whenever there has been a series involving Yokai or other Japanese demons they would use the same reference pictures from certain works of art. It’s either a representation of a mermaid or kappa. Long hair and feminine looking eyes so possibly a siren of sorts, body looks like it has scales and the background resembles water so could still be some water spirit. The mouth seems to be a beak of sorts which is what had me think it was a kappa. Honestly looks like the drawing Luffy did when he was drawing out what he thought a mermaid would look like lol
