Sometimes looking at everything that needs to be done is overwhelming and for me when I feel overwhelmed I just take one task at a time and not look at the big picture and somehow it gets all done and is not as difficult as I feared. Your mom was right about children and grandchildren, more to love, more to worry about but so worth every prayer. Keeping you and your family in my prayers Gayle. We appreciate you sharing your time and life with us 💕

I love what your Mom said about being a grandmother!!! You DO have two generations now to worry about and it does take its toll!! Glad to see you are hanging in there, but at the same time, don't do that at the expense of your health and wellness. But, I think for you and most of us, crafting is a safe place, keeps our minds busy and it's a way to escape for a while from our worries!!!! But, I'm like your other subbies, don't only come on for our sake. We will be here waiting, but only do these videos if you gain something yourself from them, Praying still for Bucky and his family and his grandparents....He's in good hands and I hope Mary also gets some rest so she isn't completely exhausted when he's ready to come home! Hugs to you friend and enjoyed the video and all the potpourri work that was done today!!!!

Fourteen minutes in Gayle and I heard you give such a deep and meaningful sigh. I've been watching and being inspired for nearly a year now and that I think was a first! My daughter had to write a letter to herself today as part of her therapy for Bipolar. She procrastinated for three full pages then just wrote in large capitals JUST GET ON WITH IT! But it's difficult to be motivated when our thoughts are all over the place and we have responsibilities for others. But your responsibilities are not to us Gayle. Really. We are just on the sideline and I for one feel for you. I'm one of Gayle's Crew and wish I could return the inspiration. So in light of my daughter's letter to herself Gayle, JUST DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO and if that means we don't hear from you for a while, so be it! Xxx I know I'll be here when you get back.💝

Oh, Mrs. Gayle. You had me seriously tearing up today. I've been watching your channel for nearly a year now, and to hear you worry about being here for the people who don't get out much and look forward to hearing from you everyday... I'm one of those people. I don't leave my house often, and I do so enjoy hearing your voice every morning. I usually like to watch your videos with my first or second cup of tea, and something about that combination of you and some good caffeine is just a wonderful way to start the day. I am thankful for you all the time. But to hear you worry about us like this this morning when you have SO much going on with your family and in your life... it's stuck with me all day, and I couldn't go to bed without letting you know you are appreciated, unbelievably kind and so generous with your time. I never thought you might feel responsible for us subbies, and now I just really want to give you a hug and tell you it's OK to give yourself a break. We just enjoy your company and watching your process, and if there's ever a break in videos, then we will be just as delighted to catch up when you come back. Much love, Chelsea

@@gayleagostinelli_ct we love you too! I know you were filming ahead, so you might be at your retreat already? I'm not sure when you said you were going, but if that's the case, I hope you have a wonderful time playing and crafting, and catching up with your offline pals! I, of course, had my tea with your new video this morning and was happy to hear you feeling better about tackling your projects. ❤️ And you have so many awesome playlists that when I can't sleep or on the (very rare) occasion I'm caffeinating before a new video is up, I just go through your playlists and find a video I haven't seen before or rewatch a favorite. My plan for any "breaks in programming" lol is to go through your organizing playlist and get my own crafty area sorted. I love those videos because 1. I can admit I'm nosy and enjoy seeing all your treasures, and 2. you always sound so happy and relieved when you get a drawer or a bin reorganized that it's really motivating for me to get my stuff filed away in its CORRECT spot. So past Gayle and future Chelsea shall be undertaking Operation Fix This Mess, with tea of course. You always say you feel like you can't craft without us anymore... Well, I have trained myself so that now Mrs. Gayle time is tea time lol.

I think that as wives, mothers and grandmothers...there are times and circumstances that demand we “run” on necessity...endurance and raw love. It’s those times when we often do some of the most important work we’ll ever do. But it drains us.It can be hard to just “keep going”. I feel for you. I haven’t had to walk through exactly the same circumstances. But a lot of what you describe sounds really familiar. Don’t fret Gayle. Just keep walking. Just keep doing what is put in front of you. It’s in God’s hands. Trust Him and rest in Him. He will “pull it together”. Prayers for you all.

If I may pit on my psychotherapist hat for a moment, what you are describing in the beginning of the video is a very normal reaction to the stressors of last week. As he improves, as you see your daughter and son in law relax, these should subside. Your video showed a perfect example of right brain/left brain conflict. Worry, stress, planning, etc. is right brained, and creativity is left brained. You were forced to be in your right brain for a week, so it was hard for you to get back to being creative. You did what you should have done (I think the only thing we *can* do when that happens), is to just start doing something creative. As we saw, the left brain starts kicking in and it gets easier and easier. It also helps to lower your stress. When I was still working (as a busy civil litigation secretary), it was hard for me to do anything creative unless I pushed myself to start, which sometimes felt like I was physically straining myself!

So glad you are getting back into the swing of things again! I think it’s possible that you still have some stress hormones running through your body, that often happens after a prolonged time of crisis and stress. I find Tulsi tea (also called holy basil) really helpful. You can usually find it in your local health food type store. Even just some meditation or a soothing bath with epsom salt and lavender oil before bed would help.

hi and hugs dear Gayle, even tho circumstances/reasons are different, i think most of us have these same feelings when stressful things happen, we spread ourselves too thin, take on too much, set unrealistic goals for ourselves. i know there are times when i think "oh heck, i can get all this done-no big deal" and then "wham!" i'm taking 2 steps forward and 5 steps back, pressure anxiety, feeling overwhelmed and completely 'discombobulated'.... i think when things happen we can't fix for ourselves, like little Bucky, what your daughter was going thru, it adds even more stress and this was a biggie! feeling helpless is one of the worst things, but getting run down to the point we are useless is something we can get a handle on i think. i've been in situations where i felt helpless, but i ended up getting so distraught and run down, i became useless and ended up sick. things have a way of catching up with us ya know. but you did GREAT in this video my friend! you came to your happy place, you shared, and then you just "dug in". you've been doing this for so long, i think you have a "crafting instinct" that just knows what it needs to do. but even the best kinds of instincts can get overwhelmed and even shut down when overwhelmed. i usually find myself needing to hit the pause button, re-group, take a lot of deep breaths, and eventually i'm back to my "old self" but it takes time.... do what you have to do to take care of Gayle.... sending big hugs and bunches of love. my mom has been gone a very long time but i can still hear her every now and then saying "knock it off jenny-get a hold of yourself!" we can lean on them even when they aren't physically with us anymore. ❤❤❤

Gayle, so sorry to hear about Bucky. So glad the doctors and nurses in your town saved him and got him to Denver. Children's Hospital in Denver I'd excellent. They treated my brother for heart problems way back in the 1960s. I'll say a few prauers.

I’ve been eyeing off that beautiful paper pad you’ve been using on your “Paper Pad Project” but it’s over $73 here in Australia (without shipping)! 😳😵 I am ever so glad you’ve point me to beautiful digital designs in Etsy. A new discovery for me this year.

You have every reason to be discombobulated! You’ve been through a lot. Glad you just made yourself DO it, then you got on a roll. I can see why you’re over using that paper pad! 😉. Bucky is in my thoughts. I hope you get the much needed rest you deserve. On those nights, I either get up and make a physical list, or I tell myself, I have no control over that (whatever that is), OR, I tell myself that if I’m exhausted the next day, I get nothing done. Sometimes it works....sometimes not. Hugs my friend. ❤️

Gosh I thought I'm the only person who that happens too. Have so many things to do. I'm overwhelmed, almost frustrated. So thanks very much for your encouraging video🤗

Still praying for Bucky & your family. So glad he's doing better. I love your little "booklet" ephemera. Thanks for putting a doily on it, and reminding me about the credit card smoothing trick. I'm about to put doilies on 3 of my birthday calendar journals and needed that reminder. OH! Gluten-free banana bread?! YUMMO. Recipe, please?

I am glad you got your mojo back! I haven't crafted for over a week now and just don't feel the inspiration. I have to start making doll clothes for the nieces by the beginning of October, so I really need to get some things done by the end of the month, including 50 Christmas cards. I hate it when I feel like this. I need to re-watch some of your old videos or catch up on the new ones! That should get my creative juices flowing!

Hi Gayle, I hope your grandson is feeling better and out of the hospital I’m a bit behind in my videos. You’re doing very well for one very worried granny! My fingers are crossed all is going well 😍😘. I had to stop and comment on the video when you said ‘Bodgy’ ! That really cracked me up you are too funny. I even blushed when you said it! I think what you’re making is lovely so far so keep on keeping on. Wish I could come to Denver and meet you. Maybe one day. Hugs Rach 😜😳
