They should have kept the original actress why get rid of her? they got rid of all the early movie crew in the later ones.

Its because when they made the films they didn't know what character would no longer be an extra and who would have a main part. The extra's contracts could only be for a year or two and as they are extra's they don't speak they are just in the background. Some people live of being extra's but for larger roles there is bigger pay and bigger expectations. since Katie's character became more prominent in the 6th film she was no longer and extra role. Which meant that the role needed to be auditioned for as it was now a speaking role. i hope this makes sense?

@@CastAspellThe actress to played Katie in Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets Emily Dale born in 1984 , the other actress who played who in Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows was Georgina Leonidas born in 1990
