Great blog guys, loved watching young people play. Abigail was brilliant, and was really enjoying her golf. Love to see that!

Well done Abigail is what I say! Great to see a young girl into her golf and looking to improve. Really enjoyed these volgs a pleasure to watch. People slating a young girl, playing a game she obviously enjoys should be ashamed of themselves.

Great job Me and My Golf! At a time when participation in golf is either stagnant or in decline, at least here in the U.S., it's great to see kids out there playing and having fun! We need to be encouraging more kids to put down the video games, get offline, and get outside like Abigail; not being critical and negative like some of the people commenting on these vlogs. Maybe you need to spend more time engaging in some self reflection to determine why you feel the need to belittle children and less time making ridiculous comments on KZbin.

I honestly wish I could play with the joy Abigail does. As a 5 handicap, it is actually quite eye opening for me.

+Jeff Wilden That was well said, I'm a 7 handicap, and I can't remember the last time I had as much joy out on the course as Abigail was having.

+Suzanne Heffernan Yes Abigail always has a smile on her face and makes the most of the game. Lots of golfers could learn from that.

Going by the aeroburner caps and white crown drivers (not M1s), I'm going to hazard a guess that this is some old footage and that either the course or the girl you're playing with have made some great progress since

The fact is that anyone that slates this girl for her 'swing faults' has never been a proper golfer. Regardless how good you think you are, or if you play off a plus handicap. Every decent golfer respects another golfers efforts. But then again I'm sure those critiquing are amazing and started off at about single figures.. shame that people think it's ok to have a dig, but that is just not the attitude on the golf course. Put any of us next to Andy and Pierce and 99 percent of us are going to look awful. So seriously have a word with yourselves. These guys do great work and probably don't appreciate such ridiculous comments on their videos.

Piers, could you please describe what you actually do when initialising your swing? (like at 1:16). it looks like you are sitting down a bit (sorry for the description) and the following take away is just super smooth. what do you really do?
@thomasgolft8 жыл бұрын
Tom Selwood no doubt but that doesn't answer my question I am afraid.

When Abigail hits it to the right everytime and its a bad shot dont tell her unlucky. Its goes where you hit it
@taylorjohnson50058 жыл бұрын
Some of what you say is true, but I am guessing they tried to avoid trying to label her as a bad golfer. Once you get that in your head, whether from your coach, yourself, or some KZbin poster, it can make it impossible to want to practice or even enjoy golf. If you're only happy playing golf when you're hitting good shots your emotions will rise and fall with great shots and poor ones. Those are few and far between when you start. Even worse is even if you start to play well you're just raise your expectations on what you think a good shot should be. It'll be so impossible to enjoy the game because every shot that isn't perfect now creates shame. You'll never want to practice because you can't allow yourself to hit bad shots because the struggle itself 'confirms' your belief that you don't hit well. You're better off changing your mentality or quitting.
@bradcampbell71548 жыл бұрын
+Taylor Johnson yup, just enjoy the game number 1 and then continue to play, get lessons and practice and you will get better. great playing Abigail
@trevormorton84158 жыл бұрын
+Taylor Johnson I agree with keeping things positive but it doesn't hurt to let them know what they did wrong, then top that comment with what they did well. If everything is blamed on bad luck and let them think their swing is fine when it isn't, it will make getting better very difficult. This coming from a high handicapper.
@bradcampbell71548 жыл бұрын
+1Down5Up yea, but she is still so young, let her enjoy the game. she does want to get better since she has been taking lessons from Andy. let her decide if she wants to make golf more than just fun. you start putting pressure on yourself to perform and you will suffer

i am a new player - why is there a red and yellow flag? I thought it was front 9 yellow back 9 red?
@JCGolf-ki4ly8 жыл бұрын
Some courses play 18 holes but don't have enough room for 18 different holes, so they sometimes have a front nine flag and a back nine flag :)
