We had a lot of fun. LOTS of pottery shards with several different patterns and colors. What kind of rocks were the ones you saved to tumble. Wonderful yard! Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒ Keep the goodness coming.😊👍

You are correct about ants brining things to the surface. I’ve picked up (small) peridot and garnets from ant hills in New Mexico. Your videos are very informative. Thank you for posting them.

What an amazing yard and property you have! So many pottery shards too! Amazing ones too! And you were just saying that you had not found any arrow heads or points, and then you find a obsidian flake! and all the wild life (the bunny, and the caterpillar) were amazing. The rocks are going to be really pretty tumbled too. Thank you for the yard tour and letting us into your life. It was amazing!

Your wildflowers are beautiful! Where is the redware from? Who made it? What kind of rock are the pink rocks you picked up? Your yard is amazing! You don't even have to drive anywhere to find cool stuff. Just walk outside. Thanks for sharing this.

All the pottery is ancestral Puebloan, so people who lived in the area between 1050 and 1300 CE. They are ancestors of contemporary Pueblo tribes including Hopi and Zuni. I think most of the stuff I found was made somewhat locally, in Northern AZ. One of the pieces looks like it could be Alameda Brown Ware which is particularly local, made by the Sinagua people. They were trading with people all over though so often there are pottery styles from far away within the arch sites around here. I’m not sure exactly what the pink rocks are. They could be a chert material from a limestone layer nearby. 😊

Your property is AWESOME!!!! i love finding stuff on my block, its a real buzz working out what is on it and what resources you have!!! I wonder if there is some good potters clay deposits on yours, with all those pottery pieces, maybe they made and fired them there

Thanks! It’s possible, if I find some Alameda brown ware or SFM Gray Ware then that’s local. The piece that was red on one side and black with streaks on the other looked similar. 😊 swvirtualmuseum.nau.edu/wp/index.php/artifacts/pottery/san-francisco-mountain-gray-ware/ swvirtualmuseum.nau.edu/wp/index.php/artifacts/pottery/alameda-brown-ware/
