I really like your style of videos. And your work is just wonderful!! Please mention that you have to allow the cone holder to dry completely before placing it in the kiln. Some people may not know that.

Thank you so much! I've found that you don't have to let it dry actually, as long as you poke it full of holes with a needle tool it fires fine, no problems at all!

@@BlankEarthCeramics Please be careful doing that. The amount of steam that comes off from that piece of clay can cause faults in the other pots in the kiln. Also a person I know did that accidentally and it blew up causing her entire kiln load to be effected. Just wanted to let you know my experience with that.

@@micheledickey4066 Thank you for letting me know - I haven't had problems before but I think I might make a batch of these that have dried out and ready to go to be on the safe side. Thank you for sharing xx

Hi there. I have only just come across your channel and really love your work. I'm always on the lookout for new glazes. Did you formulate these yourself or are these commercially available, and if so, where could I get them from, particularly the blue glaze? Thanks so much.
@BlankEarthCeramics2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark! I make all of my glazes myself, mainly by looking in books and digging through Glazy until I see something I like, then doing a lot of testing! The blue glaze is called "forest green" on glazy, although i've fiddled with it a bit. Hope that helps!

Great video! how many pieces (mugs and such) can you fire on average with this kiln size?
@BlankEarthCeramics2 жыл бұрын
It's difficult to say because I normally fire a mixture of things, but if I was doing mugs I could maybe get like 30 in I think. Thank you!

Beautiful! But I am a bit sad that you skipped the most exciting part. You showed how you glazed all the test tiles but we didn't get to see the results.

Ah sorry I showed some but should have spent more time taking you through each one! Thank you for watching :)
