Potting a Cypripedium in a container

Cypripedium in cultivation can be difficult enough, let alone trying to keep them in containers! I discuss the layering and decision making of components in a working substrate for most Cypripedium species.

It bloomed not long after getting into a comfortable substrate, and even yielded seed from a cross with Cyp. acaule. The seed unfortunately lacked embryos. The Lady Slipper is still doing fine, and is overwintering outside.
