I'm glad I waited before commenting on the pipe. You're doing exactly what I was going to suggest! The pipe change itself would probably help the carb, but you might as well do what you're planning for the carb

I prefer to go bigger on the carb when the low speed circuit can’t keep up after one size larger drill. More than that and I start having pressure issues. Well at least I think it’s pressure issues. Things just seem to go haywire after that point.

I was thinking about swapping a 372 carb on. I have a few of the Chinese Walbro's from FT. If the pipe dosent change it any, I may just go that route. I think the diaphram or metering needle tip is swelling and blocking fuel at times. Pumps good for a bit then acts like it looses pulse or something. Dosent do it with gas so it's gotta be something not liking the alcohol.

@@dubbssawshop I suspect it’s a fuel pressure issue. It always seems to happen the same way with me when I can’t get it to flow enough fuel on the low side. As soon as I modify things go haywire. I am suspicious that it is a clue that we need to go bigger on the carb when stock setup is not enough for the low side. 372 carbs really seem to do well on alcohol. You may not need to drill the carb at all with a 372 carb.
