Absolutely! These are duos, not solo pieces. The piano parts are integral to the piece, and difficult to perform! The omission of the pianist's name is such a common rudeness

i love galway and everything he produces, but the beginning feels too fast for me. to me, the piece is very dramatic, and should be savored a little more imo

Pahud and debost’s recording are just more French, Galway is an excellent player but unfortunately with many of the more subtle French colors he plays them overly exaggerated. Same with rampal.

IMHO Galway"s interpretation of the Poulenc Flute Sonata is the definitive one by which all others should be compared/judged. His style and phrasing are perfect for this piece.....which cannot be said for all his work.

Nope I played Ranish sonata in B minor, Sevilla by Albeniz, and changing times by Buckland :) I played this piece just not in my exam

@@emmawilson9143 I learned this for my grade 8 some 25 years ago but didn’t play it either. I think I played Hindemith and Mozart concerto in D major! Passed Eugh distinction. Used to love playing but haven’t played it much since.

@@adaz7230 Ahah ma va, è che preferisco versioni più aderenti all'agogica malinconica richiesta dal compositore, tipo appunto il citato Rampal o una di Pahud che gira su KZbin. Poi ognuno ha il suo concetto di malinconia, magari a te questa versione te la richiama lo stesso e vabbè 😁
