It was just the angle, the more horizontal your angle is, the farther the wavedash goes. In that moment Nintendude did an air dodge completely to the right and it counted as a wavedash since the little elevated part caught him

smash noob here....why does everyone hate nintendude so much? (I know it's because of that grab attack that's an automatic kill)....realistically it's not a move that was removed from the game, it's not banned in tournaments....why the hate for the guy for using something that's allowed? Seems like a pretty decent dude smiling pretty much the whole time in admiration for what happened, had a good attitude and good sportsmanship at the end, seems like a decent guy to me...... doesn't even seem that easy of a move to pull off either, if it was wouldn't we be seeing a lot more ice climbers top tier? as I said i'm a smash noob so i'm not sure how much money is at stake here but if you can win money and there's a technique readily available that puts you one step closer to winning the cash if you tell me "I wouldn't do it" then you're flat out lying.
