Tier Lists are made up of an aggregation of matchups. A character is only placed high in the tier list if they have favorable matchups against most of the roster - it's the basis of tiers.

@123Shine Why wouldn't it help much? It's both a low commitment option to avoid actually getting hit by those Bombs, as well as the fact that item tossing is fundamentally the best attack in Smash. So many of those kills were basically Bomb -> D-airs anyway.

@DisasterPiece0302 After APEX, Armada figured out that he can't beat Hbox with Peach, there is no way to approach. Ylink is a good CP, and didn't think Hbox had any exp in the MU. In order to not letting Hbox see this coming, he only told a selected few in Sweden (not even Amsah knew about this). In a tournament we didn't record matches when he played ylink to keep it a secret.

@IyoGata It's a classic concept. Link is the "fireball" character. Puff is an offensive character with great normals but she can't zone really as well as link. They're using their strengths. Link can rush her down but why? Puff is kinda better at close range.

@UchihaSurvivor360 I'm assuming you don't understand. Armada (the young link) chose young link specifically for this matchup, and never plays young link unless it's against puff. If the young link plays it right, it is VERY frustrating to deal with and actually favors young link alot. The next step is for the jigglypuff to find a counter to the young link.

Why is everyone always against Hungrybox? Good job Armada for pulling through with Young Link, but dang, walking away with his head down? That's kind of sad, especially if you were to put yourself in his shoes: losing to a character that's embarrassing, your own country cheering against you, running towards a character with a variety of projectiles, etc. Good stuff Hungrybox, I got you man. @Vulpine7 I catch items all the time on purpose in Melee. It's not actually hard to do. Much easier than powershielding at least. That alone would have helped hungrybox quite a bit in this matchup.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. Link/Y Link's choice of recovery between hook and whirlwind make him decent at recovering. I just mean that it's not too hard to shut him out with proper edgeguarding. Of course, that's a huge generalization and goes for most of the roster, but hopefully my idea went through.

Ahh, Melee. An ever-enduring Nintendo classic. So much we have learned, so much we have yet to learn. This game has survived for nearly ten years and will live on for another ten - and by then we will still have things which we will uncover in every match. Young Link's potential has finally been tapped, and thanks to players like Gimpyfish and Taj we've seen what characters such as Bowser and Mewtwo can do. We're getting ever closer to balance. The future of Melee is a beautiful thing indeed.

Um, except Young Link has his place in the tier list BECAUSE of his character matchups. You don't know how it works. Kirby has no good matchups, so he will stay at the bottom.

@HonotBoundElite I like Hbox's puff actually, it's impressive how he can convert rest at such high rate. I honestly think people just don't like seeing an easy character that requires minimal skill relatively and being abused. That is the only theory that would make sense as no one calls Falcon's tech chase gay but everyone calls Sheik's tech chase gay because Sheik is an easy character. As silly as it is, people will just root for audience pleasing character and style.

@ghost245353 lol, dair is by far the safest option against Jiggs. His only other kill moves are uair, dash attack and dsmash. The two latter are useless against a good Jiggs, who'll just remain in the air, or punish a miss with a rest.
