I suffer greatly with chronic pain and I need to pour a footer around my 12 x 26 carport that because I want to close it in. Pouring cement for me is out of the question but I can’t afford to have it done. I think using this foam will save me some of the backbreaking, bending and squatting of the forms construction work…
@wildwoodoffgridalaska3 жыл бұрын
I hope it helps. It makes form work super easy. Good luck.

Winter seems to be coming fast this year. We met a goal for summer and now I can relax a bit. Hopefully lumber prices drop next spring when I start framing.

Pretty slick, i like it, kind of thought you were getting gouged a little but seeing what was involved, labor and equipment intensive, can see where the cost is also the very short season
@wildwoodoffgridalaska3 жыл бұрын
It was an interesting process to say the least but I still feel like I may have gotten a little gouged.😊

I used fox blocks on my addition 12 years ago. It was a lot easier for me in NY State. I was able to call and get concrete delivered. I have family in AK. Mostly in Kenai and Soldotna. I actually have an aunt and uncle in Tok too.

I understand the exorbitant cost of that pour now. Wow! Those fellas certainly earned their pay! However, that settles it for me... I'm going with piers! Lol.

Yep, I thought the same thing. Makes a guy appreciate a pump truck when you can get one.

That is great that you got this foundation poured before your first snow fall. Tell me, That is going to fill up with snow, then melt, how do you get the water out? Excited for you getting this far along. Y'all have a Blessed day.
@wildwoodoffgridalaska4 жыл бұрын
The ground in Tok is so well drained that it will just suck right into the ground come spring. It amazes me every year how much water this ground can drink in a short time.

@13:38 Isnt the frost line in Alaska 90 to 100 inches?
@wildwoodoffgridalaska4 жыл бұрын
It varies throughout the State but you are correct for the Anchorage area.
@jiminalaska4 жыл бұрын
Could you give us a cost of dollar per yd of concrete or the cost of the foundation. I love the Tok , Northway Jct area. I understand that with the gravel in the area that frost heave are not that big problem. How about a cost of the well and septic system. I will keep watching.
