I lived in Loughborough from 1945 to 1964 within half a mile of Taylor's Bell Foundry. Walked past it but had no idea what went on inside.Thank You for showing me the processes which haven't changed since then. Brilliant series Mae.🔔

This takes me back to the days when I was doing my apprenticeship as a fitter/turner/machinist, many years ago.

Interesting as always, you seem to have gained the respect of the guys working there. Nice boots too, I reckon you probably could take two steps before they start to move.

Do you add Manganese to the melt ? And what is the sealant between the cope and drag and the glue used on the risers ? Is the young lady going to be ramming up some moulds ?

Mae, at some point just accept that you are now a Taylor's employee. Can't wait till they let you cast a bell for yourself. Probably a small one, don't think you have a belfry.
