this is really well done. to me it looks like a pool with waves around it,like when someone jumps into water and the water splashes up around them.

Fabulous! I've been using various silicone tubing to help with shaping- - there are lots things like silicone hoses and mouldings that you could use in the hardware store. I 'm playing at a much smaller scale, but the principle is the same. I put wire through the tubing to help shape it- a bit like a collar. I kind of wind it under the rim to get a curl over the edge and to help shape the slope (I do it with UV resin and leaves for jewelry). Oh, and the rippling is from the outer part being more cured than the inner part. To avoid it, the underside that hasn't been exposed to the air (or light with UV resin) is happy to be squished or stretched, the slightly harder 'skin' side stretches much better than it squishes. That said, a good top coat will hide any wrinkly bits. 😁 It's so much fun to do something that is experimentation, isn't it!?!

I love watching the creative process! I find it fascinating to see your ideas progress from your words to a physical piece of art. I want to see all the steps, including when the expectations of color in resin is one thing and actuality turns out to be different. This sea bowl turned out to be so wonderful! I love the ocean and her many moods. Your bowl is a joyous summer day at the beach! Thank you, Julie, for being so generous with your ideas, experiments, expertise, and time! Take care and stay safe!!
