The musical instrument is called KommulaVayidyam in Telugu, It's an Indian version mixing horn, cornet trumpet, bulge and gives an unique and huge sound,but I must say these days the music we are hearing is mostly composed of electronic musical instruments, but Indian old musical instruments gives an authentic and divine music which will make us feel the emotion P.S:- MickeyJMeyer used the old authentic musical instruments for Pranavalaya song as it is set in the backdrop of 1970's

9:13 That step has a significance. Prabhas is Shiva. Trisha is Sati who died. Charmi is Parvathi. In this movie, Trisha was supposed to do that dance to please Lord Shiva for rain. But she dies. Charmi is her sister. It is a tradition that one female from Trisha's family should do the dance every year for rain and she is trained for it. After she dies, Prabhas visits Charmi and teaches her. It was Trisha's dying wish. That's why he was seeing Trisha in middle. Now coming to that step, that was Kali mata stepping on Lord Shiva. One small difference is that, here Kali mata stepped on Shiva to finish the ritual. Essentially letting us know, Parvathi mata transformed into Kali mata.

The one who is dancing in Natyam movie song is SandhyaRaju, she is not an actress,she is a famous Kuchipudi dancer, she did that movie as a dedication to classical dance. This is a great song, but the dancing isn't the best I've seen. Nothing beats the properly trained classical dancers, or the ones who are willing to train hard. Shobana in Manichitrathazhu is the best!
