Chef, I'm always so glad when you do prep videos. It's important for young people who are thing about getting into the food service business to see what exactly is involved in the day-to-day operation of food service. There is a lot of work so many people may not realize. Sure, it's more enjoyable to most to see you whipping out omelets or crispy lemon chicken, but it's important to see where the REAL work takes place.😉

Man, these videos actually make me miss working a real job... I worked so hard for years to have a career that I don't hafve to leave my house for, can wake up anytime I want, can choose to take any day off that I want to- yet there is something to be said for the type of thing that you do... It actually makes me miss working. Ultimately, I wouldn't change what I have going on right now since I've worked so hard for it, but I NEVER thought in a billion years that I'd actually miss waking up to do 9-5 work.

Cooking jobs of any sort (other than fast food I'd say but even then) really requires a passion. It's nice making people happy and can be a very rewarding job but I wouldn't personally do it. The pay isn't anything to brag about and they still work AT LEAST 12-14 hours a day if not more because of the constant meal prep, cleaning, the cooking time, ordering product, etc. It's just so much work that a lot of people don't know about. A restaurant opens up at 7AM for example, you think they get there at 7AM? Nope. 4AM, maybe 5AM. 5:30AM at the very latest. Closes at 8PM let's say, the cleaning....they aren't home until probably 10PM or later.
