Crazy paragliding hike and fly. Epic Solo POV paragliding adventure with Insta360 X4.
In the wake of an unprecedented late-spring blizzard, I decided to go on a remarkable journey: a hike up a mountain summit that should have been blanketed in snow, a crazy contrast to the green valley below. Everything started with a hike in the misty valley with low-hanging clouds. As I hiked higher and higher the familiar green grass and green forest gradually turned to white frozen, snow-covered landscape. With each step, my boots plunged into the powdery depths, slowing my progress... At some points snow was really deep... almost to the waist! Yet, as I finally reached the summit, the sight before me was crazy! A sea of clouds stretching as far as the eye could see. I had to be extremely patient to wait for the good flyable opportunity. At some points everything around me was completely white! Clouds were rolling in pretty fast but still every now and then a big gap, a hole between the clouds appeared. The wind changed its direction quiet a few times which forced me to change my take off location quiet a few times. A real game of patience and focus! Finally, my chance arrived-a wide window in the clouds opened before me, beckoning me to take flight. I launched my paragliding wing and started running into the unknown! Mission number one was to stay low and out of the clouds.
Navigating through the labyrinth of clouds, mist and sky, I was blown away by beauty and mystic ambience all around me. I had to fly around the mountain to reach my starting point - the main paragliding landing zone.
The tricky part was clouds spreader all around the mountain which closed all the possible points at which I can fly over and around the mountain... at least thats how it looked like. However as I was squeezing the max glide out of my paraglider flying across the ridge, I saw couple of holes and gaps in the clouds which were just perfect for flying around. With possible emergency landing options all below me I decided to push for the goal.

Ive neve hiked or paraglided before but this was amazing, so beautiful. i have a question about the hiking poles tho, what are they used for? i always thought it was only used in snow to find how deep it is.

Thanks 🙌 hiking poles can be used for various reasons… if I use them it’s mostly because of more balance/stability on steep uphill and some extra power + upper body “workout” 😄
