One of the best Mercedes engines of all time! M155, Kompressor motor has so much torque down low compared to the M159 in the SLS. driving my E55 is ALWAYS a treat, not as potent as the SLR but still a delight..

Some people are thrilled by AMG GT's. But no SL, SLS, or AMG GT has got even close to that level of thrill and ride happiness mastership. When You get into SL63, You are just amused. When You get into SLR, You just starting to feel that this is not a car. It's nearly 'living' masterpiece. This sound is outstandingly brutal, but majestic in the same time. While it's more 'bassy' that SL63's, it's not some bloopy shotty todays standards sound and when You push that cool engine-start button it feels like You just woke up godzilla, not just an engine. You are instantly informed that this means real, i mean REAL BUSINESS. The way it builds power with that supercharger feels like it has no limits, even though its not crazy powerful for todays standards, You feel that 300km/s is just something casual, you can even talk rather normally with roof down at those speeds. Not to mention that this is MID-engine, RWD car. Surely it's in front of driver, but the trick is that the driver sits almost on the rear wheel. So this trully exotic config allows you to do some crazy things that SLS or AMG GT couldnt even try. This is the real automotive icon. Goosebumps all the time. And for me - this is THE MERCEDES. Ultimate one. Period.

Personally I both love and cringe at the look of this car I find it both stunning yet quirky, I think that the styling at the time with the way the doors meet the side vents and the headlights and even curves of the car are all very early 2000's in their design which is what I mean when I say it looks quirky, but I love the fact that it reflects the early 2000's design and colaboration between mclaren and mercedes it's just a brilliant piece of art, i own a 2004 BMW 3 series and i love the feelinf of driving nit only a piece of art but a period in tine that we will never see return again, I would love to see one of these cars in person because it really is a rare piece that will maintain such a collectable status.
