POV Drive - Porsche 718 Cayman S Onboard Test drive (pure driving, no talking)

I have a CaymanS 2014. The 718 dual turbo has greater horsepower and torque BUT lacks that real powerful powerful sports exhaust sound. That does not make the 718 less worthy but yet you feel something is missing. The Cayman 2014 just feels like a real Porsche the way a Porsche should sound and the 718 feels like something is missing. If know Porsche they are trying to change that sound-its an acoustic issue that can be solved.

is this a 4 cylinder boxer with turbo? It goes fast but doesn't sound Porsche like. I miss the 6 cylinders 😔

Yes, the Porsche Cayman S has a 4 cylinder boxer with turbo. It sounds different than the 6 cylinder, but in the flesh also very good, especially while accelerating. Porsche even realized that this boxer turbo has the character of an aspirated engine. (Christian)

Speed Heads I think it sounds not bad for a 4 Cylinder, but people always expect more for a Porsche. However somebody argued that it sounds like a Subaru STi or WRX, what do you think about it sound?

I also talked about the sound in our German review at kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYq9YYN4nN-UmJY and I had the same impression that the sound reminds me in the higher speed range of the Subaru WRX STi (Christian).
