Weren’t you afraid that the motor wouldn’t be able to handle the remapping/tuning. The 1.9Tdi with the motor code “BLS” is known for the conrods to shoot out the side of the engine. I was once looking to buy the car but the 1.9tdi BLS engine had already driven 260k kilometers. So I decided not to buy due to the fear of the conrods of that old motor would break

@@jones2292 The 1.9 TDI engine is the same block of the 5 cyl 2.5 TDI engine without a cylinder. As the 1.4 and the 1.9. The BLS is the last VW 1.9 engine made because it was unable to satisfy euro 5 normatives due to its injection system called ( Pompe Duse ) that was unable to make multiple injections per cylinder cylce. From a personal experience I can say that engine is a blast to drive and dead reliable and economical to mantain. they go fast with very low gas. The weak point of the BLS engine is the turbo that is placed on the front because on the rear there is the DPF, so the turbo sits right behind the radiator and can overeat if not properly cooled. But you're not going to trackday your 1.9 in stock settings. Apart from that I can say, from a personal experience, I've tested a map with 145cv and 330nm and the car was a properly fast car that can get the smile on your face for real. But that test costed me a PD injectors mess so I had them rebult and readjusted. Now I've got something around 130 and the car is really well responsive and quick with a top speed of around 200 kmph as stock. Use good oil and service properly and youre good for 400/500.000 kms😉

@@jones2292 Not all BLS engines are affected by the conrod bearing failures but it certainly is a risk. I had these bearings replaced in my 8P A3 as a preventative measure and they were absolutely fine. Still, it worths checking since they are relatively cheap and simple to replace.
