Smg, don't bother with auto. Half throttle flat shift. Over half throttle you can lift off for upshifts. The auto shift relates to smg setting. Put it in lowest setting and should change quicker/ lower. Top smg setting needs full throttle and revs to shift. Maybe just change oil? Only down to 2nd is slow to shift

there’s a lad called Hal on the ‘e46 m3 owners uk’ facebook group that makes a really good clone of the supersprint lightweight race exhaust for a fraction of the price. I’ve heard video/audio clips of it from people that have bought them and i have to say i’m very tempted myself to buy one so that might be worth looking into. Lovely motor by the way👍🏼

Nice to see this back on the road, Decide if you want to get carbon airbox or the exhaust, don't get both. For me S54 is all about induction noise and also I do not like droning at motorway speeds. It definitely needs the CSL software flashed on the SMG box.

Great cars; and all you need is 3rd and 4th gears across country. I agree with Doug DeMuro that they're the second-best M3 ever. (Probably be some arguments over a couple of pints on that one, inevitably.)

I got an 04 160k original bearings , I think bmw bearings are reliable given you warm the oil up etc and change it regular

Bmw bearing r reliable 😳 err if u say so Hence the reason they updated them on 04 models 😱 Because they were so reliable 😂

He’s not going to spend the money on the car 😂 Place your bets 🤔 Just another yt band wagon jumping on board for a few days 2 years later whats he done with the car mechanically Bet he’s still waiting for the shop to get the bearings ordered inn🤣 And the smg is now only shifting in 1st &2nd gear ⚙️ game changer 😂 hello eml light 😩 Sorted your rear view mirror out yet? He uses a bottle of water to wet the windows screen because the washer doesn’t work while driving Down country roads At least it wasn’t wet and muddy otherwise I would have liked to see the water bottle method on camera while driving Game changer indeed or just pure stupidity at its finest

Ah, he’s taken his time with this comment. He could have just asked how the car is doing but instead assumed, trying to be funny 🤷🏻‍♂️ Vanos, Rear Brake Lines, Bearings, Gearbox… all sorted. Oh and the washer fluid motor. Driven the car into the Netherlands and Germany multiple times now. Still love it. It’ll be a forever car for me, lord willing.
