The roads are so very narrow! That’s so awful and sad! It’s nerve wrecking!!!! And their driving side is opposite to ours here in the US. Beautiful sceneries? I didn’t see much of anything but mostly places that are quite “beat up”...no offense intended...maybe I missed something here?? Another member here kindly brought to my attention that it’s beautiful to him and I sincerely apologized... it’s a very different world in many places across the globe and I know for a fact that Japan has some unbelievably beautiful landscape all over the various islands...and this is just by looking at pictures...I’m sure it’s far more beautiful than we see in pictures. This is a matter of perspective. We Americans (especially those of us living in “country side USA”) are used to a certain view in terms of landscape beauty. I should’ve considered that landscape beauty to us doesn’t represent the different views across the globe and it might not even represent my next door neighbor’s view! We’re all different in the way we see things. My bad and I’m truly sorry. Just like I wrote above, it wasn’t meant to offend and I will not lie...it’s still not attractive to me...but then again, I do consider that I’m seeing it from a monitor...I’m not there! The Japanese people are one of the nations I admire the most and in various different aspects of the Japanese culture and history, which I did study some. I do believe that there’s such thing as “attractive and not so attractive” areas and that such is true all over the world. But again, it’s a matter of personal perspective and I absolutely respect and admire that Mr. TKO appreciates and sees beauty wherever he looks. I shall learn from the kind person who brought this to my attention and his valuable lesson to me! Arigatōgozaimashita, Mr. TKO! And I’m sorry...I sincerely didn’t mean to offend you. We have tons of ugly places here in the US too...lol...but I mean “ugly to me”. Personal opinion...most roads in the world are much too small for us Americans because we’re used to our large highways and side roads...we do need large here...because it’s a large country.

Lucia Gunn That's just how most Japanese (and most Asian countries) roads are. No, it's not sad, we don't have Durangos and F150s and Peterbilts here, so it's wide enough for us. As for sceneries, what looks beautiful for me may look awful to you, and I hope you understand that the reverse is also true.

Stevanus Apriliyanto Awww...I’m sorry...I didn’t mean to offend you...you’re absolutely correct! It’s just a matter of perspective and trust me, Japan is one place I’d love to visit someday! My surgeon was there earlier this year and he loved it...his brother lives there...and yes, they’re Americans. I have a cousin who spent a year there and she also loved Japan. I trust every place on earth has areas that are more attractive than others but again, you make a very good point: it’s all about perspective. Please, also consider that I’m watching it from a screen...I trust it’s never the same as actually being there. I think it’s so funny that you mentioned American cars...we love our “big stuff” and yet, Japanese cars are the best selling here...we’re probably the largest Japanese car market and consumers in the world...lol..both my husband and I own Japanese cars...and we love it. American car manufacturers have come a long way (I’m sure learning much from Japanese manufacturers) but there are many uses for our large cars here...after all, ours is a very large country...and we like to “collect” large toys...lol... anyhow, true respect and love for our Japanese friends. We think a great deal of you there and have utmost respect for you. We look up to you in many, many, many ways. When certain things go wrong here, we say “Look at the Japanese...this is old news for them!” LOL true story. Then we have to summon Japanese experts so we can enjoy good, effective technology for our great needs around here. Please accept my deepest apologies...you literally “took me” on a tour of places in your country that are across the globe from us...it’s different than it is here...but that’s not to say I haven’t known other places outside the US. I’ve lived in Brazil before and have visited the Bahamas...but that’s as far as I’ve gone...I know mostly within our country here...and yes, it’s very different...we have plenty of areas here that aren’t attractive to me either...I will rectify/edit my message...I didn’t quite come across as I intended. Thank you. Arigatōgozaimashita...by the way, Durangos are not that bad...but I wouldn’t want one for myself...LOL..
