one could easily be that guy on this road, really slick, almost had a ice road feel to it. in fort nelson bc the logging roads are watered and smoothed to like mint pavement. its like glass. it will teach you a few things

I hauled spruce out of that area to the mill at High Prairie a dozen years ago, miss the scenery. Google shows they’ve punched a LOT of holes since I was there. I wish I had known about that fast split up shift in the hills south of HP. Great channel sir.

first off thanks for the comment. secondly looking around on google maps is pretty crazy the amount of wells drilled, especially around cynthia lodgepole.

its much better, just have to work on exposure, i watch guy in norway in the winter his stuff is so crisp and he uses a insta 360 1 rs i think. $1200 bones. but he also drives a euro cab over so closer to the window does make a difference. tho this is better its not 100%

Talking about cell service. I started in 08 i believe. We had a phone in the bag deal. Honestly wish it was still that way. I love after getting my dispatch turning off my phone

yeah i had the motorola truck phone. key pad on the back had a mount that hung it up on the dash in my 1990 c500 330 inch bed 10+4 425 cat. now days text dispatch or email. not bad if i print it off at home, but trying to read directions from my phone while driving, huge pain in the ass

its fitting for me, hand fits there perfectly, they need to make a steering wheel that can be straight and fit my hand without having my hand curled awkwardly for 14 hrs a day. previous model steering wheel was perfect. the biggest thing is theres not enough tilt towards me like flat glass cabs, those steering wheels tilt almost straight up and down. in curved glass its stays flat. as i get older its killing my wrists and fingers. wasnt a issue till i broke my neck in 2010 or so

Year round access for Seal and East Chip. Also I agree would rather be back there in winter then summer, the mud back there in the summer is god awful especially if you keep going past the east chip turn off. I've had a hydrovac chained up back there and still sideways on the road during mud season
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT12 күн бұрын
that sounds like a good time. floater vac needed

Seal lake?? Like as in by nampa? At the end of the east harmon road?? Lol I go through there to grab a load of ngl. However I'm not sure you/me are on the same section of road. I get on seal lake at 52 kms and you seem to be waaaay ahead of thst. Lol. It always seems to be icy on my section. Fr km 50 to km 62. Icy as shit and a sweet lil wet spot halfway through. Lol.
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT12 күн бұрын
had to look but yea, it looks like it goes right thru to harmon rd. but i was in from red earth side, starts at 0 there. was in 31 kms and turned off on to east chip

@@TimelapseTruckerRTOT Nice 👌 I get on seal lake off the Noel so close but oilfield close. Lol Your section was a racetrack compared to the goat trail I'm on at mine!! Lol. An hour to go 12 kms. Lol Take care man 👊

I buy bulk farm fuel from UFA and was curious if there is a station in Slave Lake ( its been many many years since I was through there ) and your right, NO UFA in Slave Lake. The closest ones in that whole area of Alberta are High Prairie, Athabasca, and Wabasca. I guess that pretty much answers that !.
@TimelapseTruckerRTOT12 күн бұрын
copy, i thought i seen something to the color going north on 2, maybe a farm store tho
@charlesb426712 күн бұрын
@@TimelapseTruckerRTOT Hmm, I had brought up their current map of all locations and they show both fuel stations and farm store locations on that map and nothing showed up in Slave Lake. I had also brought up the fuel price listing and again no Slave Lake was listed there either. I have to wonder if maybe they had a location of some sort there at one time and closed it down ?. The long time locals would know for sure as I doubt I have an old UFA location book around to refer to. I get my bulk fuel from Rycroft which I assume you have been through various times, well that location never used to exist as they had shut down a location closer to me which was a real bummer for so many locals but that's how things can go. I am actually surprised they don't have a location in Slave Lake, its rather far from anything.

Gerald, not sure if you check comments or not but here goes, I’ve got a rookie question for ya! Im 53 years old, background in farming and construction but looking for a whole new thing to do! I’ve just got my air brakes and class 3 license and plan to upgrade to class 1 this summer! Just looking for a starting point advice to get into oil field work and the good the bad and the ugly outfits to get involved with or avoid! I’m Edmonton area based and good to go for out of town or camp locations etc! Any advice appreciated from you or other viewers reading through the messages! Cheers, Ger.

BKE,IRT,VDM these are the 3 companies id look at in edmonton if i was working out of there, im sure theres a ton more but i dont know them for say, BKE looks like a top notch place. all 3 of these companies do more then just oilfield, at a starting point being green to it id take any job you could, of course depending on what your going to get for a truck. dont settle for a pile of shit. most guys are looking for good guys, so if you fit the build just a bit you'll have no issues finding something, winter the time and everyone's busy in the winter but spring can be slow for a month or 2 until stuff dries up

@ Thanks for the reply and the info, I’ll check into those outfits for sure. Thanks also for posting your videos, great content! Keep em coming! Stay safe! Ger. 👍
