2 guys on one end and you’re by yourself , only need one on each end, since your on the iron they should let you connect your side first

Usually I would agree but here the lift couldn’t reach the other side to drop me off so I had to bridge the beam. Anddd this actually my first time working with a phone man, the second guy in the lift.

I usually carry a .5" drive ratchet and a deepwell 1.25" socket in my boltbag, comes in handy sometimes.

What do you do if the beam is to short? Can you use a spacer?
@mayneofsteel Жыл бұрын
Nahhh no spacer. Depends how short the beam is. First we double check the plans, rarely will the dimension of the beams be off but it could be the wrong piece. But if it’s the write number beam then we close that gap using quick bolts, come alongs, or wedging one side of the column to help close the gap.

that's when you bring out the good ol beam stretcher
@johnathanchacon2758 Жыл бұрын
As a connector, in the instance when you had that gap for that connection, it’s always good to keep a ratchet spud on your harness for those kinds of ordeals. If you can stash a socket or two for the erection bolts you’re using and the quick bolt you have you’re gold. That way you’re not wrenching with your spud too long. Anyhow, hang and bang brother. Stay safe
