Any advice for someone who has 3 kids and is out of shape who wants to join? What's it like what do you do in boot camp, what exactly do you need to know how to do to pass a physical exam
@joshuastevens1200Ай бұрын
@ I can’t speak on kids but I am married. Make sure your home affairs are in order before you go. Get back in shape. If you can’t do push ups, do at least a 90 sec plank or run a 1.5 mile without stopping or walking, you need to work on that. It’s your job to come to bootcamp in shape. It’s not your RDC’s job. Your physical exam will be dependent on your age and gender. You can find these standards online. Shoot for “good low”. When you get there, after all the uniform issuing and medical examinations, you will do a “pacer” which is essentially to see where you’re at in your fitness. Now ACADEMICALLY, make sure you have memorised two things before you go: the Sailor’s Creed and the 12 General Orders of a Sentry. This will make your life SO MUCH EASIER. Bootcamp is more a mental marathon than a physical one. The isolation from the outside world and the stressors that come from your training, RDCs and the mistakes of shipmates and yourself will wear on you. Relax. Take a breath and remember why you’re there. It’s all to make you stronger, tougher and more professional.

@truckie223atheart5 ай бұрын
Try and get into Corps school. Medical/HM which used to be hospitalman rate. If you do well you can also go to C school which is advanced medical training. But if you complete Corps school you can see about going Fleet Marine Force - FMF. You don't necessarily need to go to school for FMF just saying that could be an option also. Good luck.
