Watching this as I get live loaded. I know this video is like 8 months old and you've probably learned by now but you don't use PC to go across the yard like you did. You can idle over there without starting your clock. As long as it's under 5 mph I usually leave it in 4th gear and that goes 4 mph at idle👍🏽but as soon as you hit 5 it will automatically put you in drive
@mrlevhil2 жыл бұрын
I prefer keeping it in off duty/PC. Sometimes these automatics will lurch forward and hit that 5 mph when you're trying to creep. Then, you have that on your clock for the next week.
@managerankh3 жыл бұрын
Jewels.......Whenever you're lowering the trailer lower it a little lower then your 5th wheel. Next get back in truck and lower your air bags so you can slide under trailer. Once under trailer before locking into kingpin hit your button to lift air bags back up, then roll backwards to lock onto kingpin. When you get out of truck to lift landing gear it will be easy to crank up because all the weight from load has been lifted off the landing gear. Its quicker and easier then what it sounds like. Great vid.

Been thinking about learning to drive and this may just have inspired me to go for it.. i hate trying new big things because the learning part of it until youre comfortable is annoying and awkward but this kind of brings to light that anyone just starting out is gonna be like that. I would be exactly like this.. wondering if i could drive my car to my truck to drop my stuff off.. i would end up not doing it and not asking if i could do it for a little while and its just stuff like that man.. we’re all just normal ppl tryna get a bag. Noticed a few mistakes. Don’t PC to go across the yard. You must be on duty or creep off duty.. 2. Don’t stay in sleeper on your logs when you’re on home time or just in general. Log yourself in sleeper berth ONLY WHEN YOU’RE IN SLEEPER! 3. The LANDING GEAR.. when you’re dropping a trailer, do not put the lever back into its spot! Let it hang freely. Why? Because when someone else goes to pickup the trailer, if may not be able to move because of all the weight. 4. Just be careful out there and be safe.
@jammydodgerman2 жыл бұрын
About the landing gear lever- I drive Euro trucks and they all have adjustable air suspension. So if the lever wasn't able to move during hitching up, I just lift the unit suspension a bit and the lever is freed. Is this not the case for US trucks?

Hey, just found your video by chance. Very good. Just a word of advice from a fellow truck driver (from Australia), always do your pre-trip checks before you move your truck. One reason being that once you’ve had the engine on a little while you won’t get an accurate oil level reading. Also, you won’t know if there’s any defects or damage or debris under the tyres that could cause damage. Always check before you move. Good luck!

If your thinking about obtaining a CDL but are unsure. Come to the upper mid-west during fall harvest. You will have a chance to drive every year, make and model ever made. By the way all you need is a class D drivers license. It would be best to have a bit of experience. Your will drive alongside lifters a foot a apart and driving on minimum maintenance roads etc. Just a thought if your thinking about it. The area i'm talking is ND. MN. border and harvest lasts close to a month. You can make $3-4k driving 12 hour shifts. You get a day off when if happens to rain. It's a blast been doing it since i was 14 over 40 years ago.

I’d recommend Werner. Plus it’s only 5k for training school you should give it a try.

That was your "pretrip" walking around your car for 30 seconds? I think the only thing you could of possibly checked was that there was no scratches or dents on your car lol. What about the brakes, suspension, engine, lights, fluid.

If u don’t want the it to shut off just put the cruise and rase the rpms and the truck won’t shut off on idle
@-prada-92323 жыл бұрын
And in the long if u don't raise the rpms you damage the engine

I've been eyeballing trucking and I think I'd like to make the jump from call center work. It pays better, plus I love every minute I spend on the road, I kind of wish my daily commute was longer. What would be your top tip(s) for breaking in to the world of trucking? (Canada) Great video, it's not often I watch hour and a half vlogs all the way through. Correction, I NEVER watch hour and a half vlogs all the way through.

thanks for watching bro haha and honestly its hard at first because you have to learn so much but it get’s so much easier to the point it will feel like you are just traveling across the country lol so stick with it no matter how hard it get’s💯

1st. Get a grant for your CDL usually have it done by ur state/provenance pay for your schooling. 2.Then hop on to a starter company such as swift. 3. Stay there for a year then start branching out aka submitting ur resume to other companies. 5. After your done with that, you can start making 6 figures if you don’t get urself in any unnecessary bills. And make sure 6. MAKE SURE YOU BUILD UR CREDIT! You will find out later on. Best of luck
