Actually in that conditions the weather was fine to fly just straight to final, but it is always better to put extra safe barrier and just to avoid the heavy precipitation.

Hi Denys! Did you have to learn some Indonesian working for Garuda Indonesia since the ATCs would assume domestic pilots would be Indonesian? Or did the FO translate it? Thx

Hi there! All the ATC speak pretty much good English there. However there were couple of cases that F/O was translating the Indonesian (Bahasa) into English. Thanks for your comment! That was a good question!

Hi! Nice to see you here! I was using GoPro hero 4 by that time, it wasn't very good... Now I use Sony FDR X3000 action cam. GoPro hero8 would be also fine. Wishing you good luck in your training 😉 ATR is nice airplane to fly.

Hi Capt, have a question since flying in this area (west part) for the last 8 years, has it happened to you in another country to get landing clearance in an IFR approach as here AFTER you declare rwy in sight? Tower(s) waiting only for VMC conditions to give you landing clearance like if you were in a VFR flight something that could be a little stressful if you get down to minima especially in a ILS appr.

Hi there! My great respect to Maintenance crew! Thank you for keeping our airplanes fit to fly! Yes, the yoke moves with a/p on. And you can set different mode to chande flight parameters. Also ATR has TCS button on youke so you can control the airplane without the a/p disengagement is you hold TCS button.

@@PilotBlogDenys Thanks! Your vlog is really informative. I hope you have more vlogs on the ATR aircraff. We have a lot of ATR operators in the Philippines. I agree on the TCS, it gives temporary manual flight control without disengaging the AutoPilot. Amazing to see that you can easily move the control wheel and column considering the flight controls are only control cables.
