Great video Nathan thanks for that! I'm 56 years old and I don't have the energy it takes to surf at that level anymore so it's an absolute pleasure to watch you rip those waves.
@joegibbs25082 жыл бұрын
Loving the flow from catching a wave at 5:00. You kick out and instantly start paddling hard to JUST make it under the next wave. This is great showing not just riding waves but paddling out. I'm constantly telling my son, don't waste any time in the impact zone. This video is a perfect example of that. Your hustling was AWESOME!!!!
@FreeEditsForYou2 жыл бұрын
I just watched that...that wave was massive! 10ft+? Reminds me of Ala Moana Bowls 2 days ago, you'd take one, have to hop out the back and paddle asap

@joegibbs25082 жыл бұрын
@@skippyf.t.pfilmthepolice2358 Absolutely! Especially on bigger days, I will spend some time before I go out, watching the lineup to see where and when I want to paddle out. One of the goals is to make it out with dry hair! You gotta be looking for the rips before you paddle out, I call the rip the conveyor belt!

Love watching these raw edits, makes me feel a little of the real deal, especially when it's got some size. Been four long years since having to give up surfing due to a brain injury. Took me three years before I could even watch surf vids because it was too emotional for the loss and Nate's POV raw edits were the ones that broke the heartache. Keep it up mate, the stoke is real 🤘🏼

@@NathanFlorence Thanks mate, it sucks alright because it was my surfboard that caused it. Charging DH MTB has taken surfing's place so I still get my fix of stoke, just in a different way, but it'll never replace the ocean. I get to live vicariously through blokes like you.

The feeling of the last guy out. Your tired, but you bagged some great waves. The land is dark, the sun is gone, a faint glow on the horizon. I especially like the video where you indicate when to duck dive under a big wave and when to bail. You paddle fast so there is less chance to encounter a bail and swim for the bottom situation. It felt like drowning twice over the years when a thick wave lip drilled me under water. We learn a lot from your surfing videos. Wish I had known when to bail way back then.

Couldn't agree more, the beauty, skill and technique of paddle in waves compared to the ungainly step-off and then the wash from the jet ski. The closeness of the jet ski to the paddling surfers looked potentially dangerous, particularly when the jet ski peels away after dropping off the surfer. Nathan showed that the paddle out and paddle back out was possible, so why the jet ski? Cheers
