Hi Sandy, once again thanks for your video, it’s like doing our lovely ride all over again. You do a wonderful job of recording adventures, they are a great credit to you and a wonderful record of current times. Trikes, bikes it’s just fun to be out enjoying a riding adventure and I have the extra fun of the Wiltshire twins banter, that keeps me smiling. As they would say in my old country “Diolch yn fawr.”. 👍👍😀

That was a great ride Charles, I think we all enjoyed this one very much. Next time the Coffee and cake is on Dave. Thanks for writing the poem too, I thought it added a good touch to the video. Diolch yn fawr :)

Another good one Sandy. A chap I know uses his Brompton for cycle touring and camping and was telling me about the mod he has made. In order to cope with camping loads and steep hills he has also added an extra smaller front chain ring. No front derailleur, but when the going gets steep he just swaps the chain to the smaller ring and the rear derailleur takes up the slack. This has been successful for years. Best wishes, Noel

Thats a great Idea Noel, it's something I may do to my Brompton in time. The Brompton is a lovely machine and no doubt there are more adventures to come featuring the Brommie, but I must say my favourite of all my bikes is the trike :)

Whenever you get on that bike Sandy, things seem to become almost magical with the beautiful surroundings on the routes through the English Countryside and the English Villages that pepper the horizons. And the friends that you are usually surrounded by makes the journeys even more interesting and enjoyable. Thank you, and Charles, and Dave for making my day and my weekend a very pleasant one. I am always looking forward to seeing you on the next one my friend. Have a great time!

Thank you for showing us Dave’s Brompton. As a Brompton owner I love to see them out and about. I had been wondering whether you had sold yours but - hurray! You’ve even mentioned another future adventure with it 🤗 I have to say the trikes do look like a lot of fun and I hope I will one day get a chance to try one. I’m in Northamptonshire and I do see two or three about on the country lanes. Thanks again for taking us along - you have a real gift for making us, the viewers, feel like we’re on our bikes riding along with you. Gorgeous country lanes and villages and Pam Ayers’ childhood village, Stanford in The Vale. Best wishes to you, Dave, Charles and Mandy of course 👍🏻

What lovely villages Sandy, even in the rain. Reminds me of many years ago investigating the villages of The Cotswolds on my Dawes Galaxy. The tourist hot-spots were crowded and yet villages nearby were deserted and a real treat to explore (Bourton on the Water (crowded).....Turkdean, Salperton, Guiting Power, Naunton, The Barringtons (delightful)). My old Brompton was designated as the 'L5' as it didn't have the rack and dynamo lighting and going back to Dave's gearlever, mine has two Sturmey Archer levers, one having three positions and the other two, so although it is a five speed hub, two of the six ratio's are the same. How sad that we have lost all those true British bike companies and how fascinating and steeped in history the bicycle is (The Starley's, Pederson' Kirkpatrick MacMillan, Alex Moulton, I am guessing a Sturmey and an Archer and perhaps a Brookes (yes, I know some were from far flung places to Britain but it all happened here). A person on a bicycle was once the fastest road user and is one of the most energy efficient creatures on the planet.
@WiltshireMan4 ай бұрын
I always find the hot spots a disappointment for that very reason Peter, as you say the villages close by are just as pretty and very quiet :) Very interesting to hear your thoughts on the past and very true too. A bicycle sure is very efficient, atleast 5 or 6 times that of walking I would guess. Best invention ever

Thanks for taking us with you Mr. Wiltshire. I visited Goosey after you (and Dave?) rode through there a couple of years back. The house in harrow my dad got for 19,000£ and its now 500,000£ he doesn't own it as he sold it to his dad and sister a long time ago but it's a nice area with good Indian restaurants and nice parks. The school they filmed some of Harry potter in was in that general area. Are you subscribed to Ed pratt? He has done alot of long distance unicycle tours and recently he's made videos following rivers from the source to the sea.
