Haven't watched it all, but quick observation whilst I'm watching. The majority of people that comes up to you asking for pictures or just to greet you, are all kids... Mate, you're being a rolemodel for these kids, and if your laid back, easy going, modest traits can be learned.. Bud, that's an amazing service to the world. Edit: what an absolute beast. Jd definitely doesn't deserve to go through that but goodness he took it in stride and powered through. Good on you for being calm. And helping him out. Not that I'd doubt you'd help but I'm just happy to see good people doing good.

I badly dislocated my shoulder in a skiing accident last year (and broke the socket in two places - don't recommend!) so this was a tough watch! But honestly, your videos have made me fall in love with watching snowsports again! I didn't watch much post-accident as it brought back bad memories, but you and JD's infectious joy, honesty and all around stoke at each other's efforts have brought me back in! Hope JD is doing better now and you're having a great season!

Around 2010ish we had an overnight event at Buck Hill, and the hill iced up real bad. I caught the front edge of my board and flipped on like my 2nd or 3rd run, landed on my shoulder and dislocated my collarbone and fractured the end going into my sternum. Thankfully it rolled back in on my way down the hill. Shout out to JD for taking it like a champ and staying so calm throughout given what he was feeling. And shout out to you for seeing it all the way through with him- those ER visits are not fun but they're even worse if you're solo.

I remember as a kid as a second year snowboarder, a d-head Vail skier pushed me off the main run into the deep powder. Being only a second year newb I lost control, slamming my legs on a tree sideways. I was flown from vail to Swedish, where I broke my knee cap in two places on both knees and fractured my hip. Thank God I was younger when that happened and not the age I am now lol

Ryan, I sometimes hear and see you feeling bad about the sick things others are doing in the park, whilst you are taking it slower, but eventually also reach that point. This crash is the reason why, what those guys are doing with their absolutely sick moves are often paying for it with their bodies, in blood and pain. They cant help themselves paying that price, but you dont, which is totally okay, I dont neither. You reach the same goals but slower or less spectacular but you often have just as much fun, if not more in the journey instead of the goal. Remind yourself of this next time you feel bad or that thought pops up again.
