Unfortunatelly not:( I have never seen them on a STI before, so I do not think they came out of the factory

So this has a 2.0 liter vs the U.S. version that has a 2.5? Is this the iconic version that comes with forged pistons then?

In the Japanese market, the 2017 Subaru WRX STI was indeed available with the 2.0L EJ20 turbocharged engine, not the 2.5L EJ257 that is standard in the U.S. and other markets. The Japanese market often has unique specifications and models due to different emissions regulations and market demands. The EJ20 indeed comes with forged pistons unlike the EJ257!
