Here in tx I found a place that had Diesel $2:09 a gallon and I was like if people in Florida were to see this they would freak out . I was born in Miami and lived mostly in Orlando so I know what it was like fueling at $4.70’s in the mid 2000’s. Florida was a crisis back then. Hey man if ur thinking of buying a trailer pls don’t get a reefer they only leave money during the summer and they cost fuel to fill up their tank and your trucks tank because since reefers are heavy or they get loaded heavy it takes toll on your engine and that’s bad running heavy constantly . if you wanna do reefer rent it instead of buying but I would do a dry van it works all seasons just some advice because used to have a reefer and I was just in debt with it and loads weren’t paying
@goutvols1034 жыл бұрын
So to clarify, on an overweight load, you get more money but does your company get a fine? One would think that DOT would shut you down when you pass their weigh scale.

Watched a bunch of your videos and I have yet to see you visually inspect that the locking jaws of the 5th wheel are secure around the king pin or an inspection that the operating handle is fully retracted. I know you do a pull test but it obvious you've never had a dry hook that you can pull a trailer with all day and then boom it lets go. Important things especially since its sitting in an unsecured yard. Also you mentioned about the air lines on the catwalk, that is a violation if they pull you over since they are not supposed to be rubbing on anything and there is a possibility that during turns the could get caught on something and get the connection ripped off and that won't be a good day either. But I do like the vids great prospective of an owner operator, its not all honking the horn a pretty girls and seeing the sights of this beautiful country.
