Don't get a Hennessy build, they are known to underperform. They also have multiple lawsuits going on right now. I would go with LMR, or ligenfelter. Probably more out there

I found one exactly the same colors as this car, with 4000 miles and bought it....smells like new.........it is awesome, and I like driving it more than my 911 stick.......when driving very fast and changing lanes I get a feeling of surfing....it is that smooth........the car does not bother you with all the info that the euros throw at you from the tires where you notice every pebble.........it simply says....go....I got this....enjoy the ride.

I've owned a 1988 Mustang GT (brand new), a 1988 Z51 Corvette, a 1991 ZR-1 Corvette, a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V, and now own a 2016 Corvette Z06, 3LZ, A8, Convertible. This is by far the best car I've ever owned, but every car mentioned in my past was awesome when I owned them. Yeah, I'm getting old. Haha! Thanks for the video. It's like watching me drive my car, but I love it!

I have a Z51, but everything you say is true. Also, you don't need a radar detector; you can use Waze. :) I've had mine for about 6 years now. Also, there will always be someone who seems to want to race you, no matter what car they happen to be in. I had one this morning try to pass me, and on the way home from work, a Tesla tried to gap me. The only car that truly surprised me was a BMW M5 that appeared out of nowhere and caught up to me.

A friend rented a Huracan RWD and a 991.1 GT3 back to back and the Huracan was scary fast. Look at the trap speeds. The GT3 was extremely tame feeling and honestly unimpressive. To think this z06 drops both those cars is mindblowing. And for under $70k

I had a 2016 3lz. It was quite reliable, but the leather dash started lifting up after 5 years It was a fun car, but quite squirrly on the road. It was very hard to keep the power down. I’ve since gotten a 992 911 and a c8 z06, and they are both much, much better than the c7z, but it was a damn good car. Just too scary to be fully confident in. Just too tail happy. It was great to daily drive though. Very comfortable !

I have a C8Z and i still kept my C7Z manual after getting the new one. It just hits different. That's not to say the C8 z06 isn't legendary. It is. Moreso than the C7 z06 but think about the potential of the car. How wild it is. How reliable it is. I never had a single issue with my C7Z in the 8 years i've owned it. It's a 2016 and i heard some stat that the 16 Z's were the "most reliable". Not sure how they came up with that stat maybe tallying the number of visits a z06 goes into the dealership for repair idk, nor do i know how they can even get that info but all i know is that 8 years and 36k miles later the car didn't skip a beat. I don't drive it much since getting the C8Z i think i only put about 1400 miles in 2024 so far but i just can't get rid of it yet. If it starts to give me issues i may consider but the car is too good and i've owned it since brand new so i know the entire history of the car. It's such a good car these C7 z06's.

You forgot to mention the launch control and the ability to adjust your torque to the wheels higher or lower. Combined with the electronic LSD it's a 10 second car in bone stock form.

yeah when you have a fast car, its tough to not drive fast, I have a x3m comp that is faster then your Corvette, and its tough to have discipline to not speed, I do drive very fast but only when no cars are around on certain parts of the highway you can drive fast and be responsible if you alone and no cars around.....but I also have a mini copper s and its more fun to drive than my x3m, and I've driven 911 turbo s and a Ferrari f12 and the Cooper is slower for sure, but more fun to drive just for the size and handling and steering wheel feel

@@ProfessorDrives I am one of those. I have either owned or driven both transmissions in all American muscle cars (1988-2020). I owned a 2004 Corvette Z06 6 speed that I traded for my 6 speed 2016 Camaro SS. Then I traded the Camaro SS for my current 2020 Widebody Challenger 6 speed. There is nothing more exilherating than to drive a manual shift Camaro SS or Vette. If you are into speed, than the auto transmission is a no brainer. But if you truly want to be one with your machine, nothing matches the autonomy and excitement of a Chevy manual. p.s., it is not "weird", if you are a true driving enthusiast.

This Z06 obviously has a modified exhaust system. Significantly louder than a normal Z06. The exhaust babbling when you take off the gas is also not normal.

no this Z06 does not have that reputation, they have great traction control. A “death trap” car would be like a 1st generation dodge viper, but then again no car is a death trap if you know the physics of how to handle a car and obey your experience limits

After driving a C8 I've come to the conclusion putting the engine in the front of a sports car is a design flaw. I suppose that's why high end sports cars are all mid engine. Losing traction is really noobish at this point in the game.

A design flaw? Why? The car has 50/50 weight distribution. The c7 z06 ran a 7.10 or 7.13 time at the ring on cup 2s, not even the cup 2Rs...This design flaw with cup 2rs could almost go sub 7 at the ring. Your criticism makes no sense.

Well, your conclusion is just an opinion. Look at all sub 7:30 Nürburgring lap times, AMG GTR, R35 GTR, 911 GT3-RS, Viper ACR, 812 Superfast etc are not mid-engine yet have some of the fastest times.
